Hey everyone! It's been nearly 10 years since I've posted anything in here! Just due to life and the fact my favourite program went the way of the dodo! Getting back into things because it really was a favorite pastime, I found Blender best fit my needs! I’m following a few tutorials I found online, and particularly one for an Akira Class Cruiser, just looking for feedback as I detail the weapons pod!

Be kind, as I’ve been able to put a few hours toward learning the program, still PLENTY to learn! No textures or such have been applied…

Welcome back! I just returned recently myself :)
SoftImage? SketchUp? trueSpace? Stick around long enough and I'm pretty sure LightWave and MODO will join them on the ash heap of DCC history (which sucks for me since I've invested so much time and money in LightWave ). You've definitely picked the right platform--by all indications Blender has a strong future, and I'm sure the C-suites at MAXON and Autodesk have taken notice. :mallory:

    I said out, dammit!
My brother! I still use Bryce 7 for some fun things. I was getting decent at Truespace when they completely changed the interface with version 5 and got me so confused I gave up on it. Pretty much gave up on 3D altogether, since I realized I'm just not very good at it and don't have the time to apply myself. I'm hoping retirement (soon!) gives me the patience to learn something new like Blender or Sketchup.

I'm still learning stuff eighteen years into this hobby so trust me, you'll have PLENTY to occupy your time in retirement! (Lucky bastard. I'll be working until I keel over at my desk. I just hope I don't hit a wrong button when my head smacks the keyboard and ruin a render in progress :ack:)
