    I see I've used a wrong word. I had in my mind the phase when a star is perishing before it becomes supernova.

    Typically you get a giant red. The star doesn't have enough mass to keep all it's matter together, so it starts to inflate. In the case of the sun. It'll be bigger than Earth's orbit, which means that the Earth will be volatilized. Fortunately it'll happen in a few billion years, so no worries.:lol:

    But if you're thinking about leaving a monument forever, you can forget it.
