    She's a beaut!

Of course, being a bit of a nostalgic, I'd name her the USS Buster Crabbe... :)

    Cheers,

I could see this design as something contemporary with the TOS era Enterprise. Maybe a corvette or scout class or something along those lines. Smaller yet with similar aesthetic.

My god... that last render is amazing. The detail is stunning. I just LOVE this ship.

Actually it is inspiring me to pull out some of my own designs again. Since I only work in 2D, I have always felt uncomfortable posting them here. Not anymore though!

Cool! As amazing as your NX-01 deckplans are (in both shear scale and style) I can't wait to see your ship designs fleshed out.

MadMan, Jude, great work both of you. I'd love to have this kind of talent so I can get some of these images out of my head to share. Best I can do is fly by's and beauty shots in Light Wave. (And even that is far from the quality I've seen in others here.)

    Anyway, keep it up.

Thanks! Well, if you could see the looks my wife gives me when I sit here for hours and noodle around on these things...:wtf::confused::shifty:

I think I've pretty much wrapped this up. Still a few loose ends and sloppy things, overall this was what I was imagining.
I put retractable covers over the cut-in windows, added some rim-windows, few other things. Oh yeah, the markings - I decided to try something different.:)

    May I just say ... :drool::drool::drool:

That is truly a thing of beauty. I love all the detail. It truly captures that retro '50s feel. Well done! :techman:

    A question...

Does this guy get an open bridge window in the front, or is it going to be closed off?

OK, I little more progress... Got some of the Engines done, and cut out the windows.

Judexavier, do you think it would be possible for me to get hold of your PSD file? I wanted to use it to make the textures as close to your drawing as possible.

    :)

If the support pylons weren't so raked this would be spot on as a TOS era design concurrent with the TOS E.

HA! You named it Metaluna! Awesome!

I like the blue striping as well. I once designed a hospital ship circa 2100 and i gave it green striping as a tip of the hat to the colors the HMHS Britannic wore during WWI when she was converted to hospital ship duty. And sunk.

Anyhow, Red's cool too. you know, whatever.

Technically, Jefferies drew tons of concepts with raked pylons. :p

Wow...just, wow.:):):) Cool. Yeah, those windows you put in the bridge look great. I'd keep 'em. Love the little details you're adding (those sweeping indents on top of the bridge).
Yes, certainly I'll send you the PSD, be warned I'm way too sloppy and liberal when it comes to layers :)

    Where do I send it?

Thanks. You know, I tried that (and a thousand other things:)), but with the smaller size and distorted proportions, (especially the chunky saucer) the swept back pylons seemed to fit better...I have a larger, companion ship in the works that looks much nicer with the classic vertical pylons (napkin sketches at this point).

LOL, yeah I hoped somebody would get a kick out of that...classic sci-fi, hey why not? :).
Perhaps ship marking colors could have something to do with their assignments...not sure what blue would be...science?

I really like the pylon shape actually, but they seem to start a bit too far forward and it just looks a bit off.
