Thanks to all who entered! This was a challenging contest, as animated images were not allowed. Some entries had to be disqualified for that reason, but I salute the posters who made them - they're beautiful. :)

You may vote for 3 of these entries:

The poll will run until August 11.

Voted for Saga, Timewalker, and Locutus. Tough choices, but I had to go with Neil, Buzz, and the iconic footprint. :bolian:

While folks are voting this weekend, please take some time tonight to look up when you go outside - it's the second Super Moon of the year. Some spectacular photos have already been published of the Moon at its closest approach to Earth, and looking much bigger and brighter than normal. :)

It was shining right through my living room window when I got up about a half hour ago. It's beautiful. :)

Voting is now closed.

Congratulations to bbjeg, whose entry garnered the most votes. :)

Thank you to everyone who entered and voted, and made this a challenging contest.

Well, I am just a bit late, but I give the highest esteem to the runaway winner. Of course, quite a few of them are iconic, but there's something ineffably moving about the juxtaposition of the two images. Plus, relatively recently we are now able to add the observation that it's redolent of the last spatial reveal of NuBSG.

Hmm.... Is that a good or bad thing???

I chose the theme of this contest to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. It had nothing whatsoever to do with any particular science fiction TV series.

Sorry for the offense, It certainly wasn't intended. Just a mention of a glancing thought drifting by that can be just as easily dispatched with as little concern. :techman:
