Now that the voting's over, I do have a minor complaint to lodge.

The original thread for entries made it clear that SF/Fantasy was not allowed. SF/F was defined broadly enough that "Calvin and Hobbes" was disqualified, on the premise it death with Calvin's fantasy life.

So, with that being said, how did Ernie, a character on a show populated by various monster characters (Gover, the Count, Cookie Monster), giant talking birds and even a Snuffleupagus, get allowed in?

For that matter, if the standard is that there can be no science fiction/fantasy at all, then The Simpsons would be disqualified, too. The "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween episodes can hardly be said not to be fantasy-based. Moreover, despite starting there, the aliens Kang and Kodos went on to appear in non-"Treehouse of Horror" episodes, as well.

As for the Stooges, we can't see their faces. Maybe I would have more votes if it was animated like this

I wasn't sure if I should just go off and start a new contest yet, since it doesn't look like bbjeg has been in the thread to "officially" close the current one. Maybe he'll post tomorrow... if not, I'll go ahead and set up a new one tomorrow evening, and hopefully that will be OK.
