Awesome! It's great seeing Downey back in the suit. And Chris Evans looks awesome as ever as Captain America :D

I'm annoyed by Downey back in the suit. What exactly was the point of that tacked-on ending to IM3?

The point was that over the last few years, he had become dependent on the suite. When he says 'I am Iron Man', the emphasise was on Iron Man. The reason he blew up all the suits at the end of Iron Man 3, was to show to himself and to Pepper that he could do without the suite if need be. That it wasn't about that anymore.
It had become a crutch, something he needed to survive. He told himself that he needed to keep those around him save from whatever harm there was in the world. He realized that he himself could do that, that the emphasise is now on 'I' when he says I am Iron Man.

He could always build a new suite if the need arose, which he appereantly does. But the point was, it's not his identity anymore. At the time of Iron Man 3, that was a potent ending, since it wasn't sure if Downey would be back for a new Avengers or Iron Man. Well, officially, ofcourse, but we all knew better. ;)

I liked the ending of Iron Man 3, but I think I'm the only one. :D

If you bother to watch the ending, you see it says exactly the opposite of what you think it says. It shows that he's truly an addict and can't give up the suit, as demonstrated by him scavaging what he could from his lab and driving off into the sunset.

As for the shrapnel in his chest, that whole device was no longer needed anyway. Else none of his suits would have been able to arrive at the final combat scene on their own. So why not get rid of it, especially since he's experienced near-death several times because of it.

He went there to have one final look around, and throw the last remaining thing linking him to the old Iron Man days into the sea, his last chest reactor.

All he takes away from the sight is DUMB-E, his faithful, if not entirely reliable, sidekick through the 3 movies, as the audience would want to know what happened to him.

No, he threw away the last thing keeping him imprisoned into the sea, granting him the freedom to do whatever he wants. Again, the chest reactor was obviously no longer a requirement for his suits whatsoever. Not even a teensy little bit.

He had more than DUMB-E in the trailer behind his car, including a screwdriver he was exceedingly fond of.

Notice, also, how there wasn't any scenes of him having the remote control stuff removed from him along with the chest reactor.

And, finally, the fact that he is still Iron Man and that he does still have at least one suit, proves that you're interpretation of that scene is completely wrong. Since, you know. <just gestures above>

Awesome cover. And while I didn't have a problem with Cap's suit from the first Avengers like others did, I have to admit this one does look MUCH cooler.

Although I really do think they should settle on one design already. It might make sense for Tony to constantly want to alter his suits, but not so much for Cap.

Amazing cover. Ultron's appearance doesn't resemble Spader's face, though. I wonder if that will be used in one of Ultron's later bodies in the movie.

I sure hope that Don Cheadle's presence in the stills means that War Machine/Iron Patriot will be a member of the Avengers in the movie.

    Holy shit. Dick.

But he's still amazing as Tony Stark, Avengers backer. Besides, if he's not in the suit that gives more space to expand the superworld by adding more heroes.

Those are pretty cool, although Quicksilver's whole overall look is kind of lame. I didn't think DOFP's Quicksilver would be the one to beat, but I'm not really impressed by the Avengers version. Hopefully he's a good character. Ultron looks really cool, as does the new Iron Man suit. It's also nice to see Rhodes, even if its just a cameo. I'm definitely excited for the movie.

I think it's mainly about Tony taking responsibility for his actions concerning Ultron's creation.

That's silly though. People want to see Iron Man in an Avengers movie, not Downey running around as Tony Stark all the time. That is precisely why I didn't really like Iron Man 3.

Fans are MAD that Tony is putting on an Iron Man suit in a new superhero movie. Let that sink in for just a moment, before realizing how ridiculous that is. :vulcan:

I'm not mad . I'm annoyed that they tacked that ending onto the end of one movie after the entire rest of the film had not been leading to that, and then undid it in the next movie.

Each movie should be self-contained thematically (even if it gets undone for the next movie). Tony Stark destroying his Iron Man suits was symbolically important in the context of the movie as he gets over New York and finds himself with Pepper (as opposed to obsessing over Iron Man and work as a distraction). It was also a way to reduce the insane number of suits he had.

Whether he had one suit left, rebuilt a suit in the meantime, or builds a suit in Avengers: Age of Ultron is something that will have to be seen and will depend on the needs of the story, but that doesn't mean the scene wasn't important to have in Iron Man 3.

Speaking for myself, I never got the impression from Iron Man 3 that Tony was giving up the suits forever.
