Jus saying. Kate Mulgrew was riffing off Katharine Hepburn, and I didnt even like the original. Her voice was irritating, and she grated viewer every time you watched the show. It was an obnoxious experience compared to the calm soothing tones of Picard or Sisko, or the warm adventurous spirit of Kirk. Even Enterprise had Sam Beckett at the helm. Janeway will get some love, because those who do like something rubbish will always get cultish and silly about it, but her voice was irritating, unsexy, and only authoritative in the same way your boss at work is authoritative. Its kind of like having a female version of Ricky Gervais from The Office UK in charge. Urgh. Who needs it? The correct answer is no one, and thats why the series bombed.

    Cheers. That is all.

Janeway is someone I've often got naked and thought about.

I always picture her face when im trying not to climax.

Mary McDonnell makes everything better. ;)

In my opinion, Battlestar Galactica was a case of great actors in their defining roles, and Mary McDonnell as Laura Roslin was no exception. It 's virtually impossible to be sure how she would have fared as Janeway - or, for that matter, how Mulgrew would have fared as Roslin. Mulgrew's Janeway voice might have been abrasive, but I really enjoyed her narration of Nos4R2 (all 19 hours of it!) and she's quite good in Orange Is The New Black.

It's a little late to speculate who would have been "better".

So... what you're saying is you don't see Janeway's face all that often?

Unless you're within 3 years of Mulgrew's age, as I was when Voyager aired, I'm not sure if you're qualified to make such a judgment.
Voyager ran for seven years, that's hardly considered to have bombed.
