Russian cruise ship with cannibal rats moving toward British coast

This will likely be the plot for one of Syfy's cheesy B movies.

Former Soviet, cruise ship Lyubov Orlova is adrift in the north Atlantic and on a collision course for the British coast.

I love that this ship has apparently just been floating "somewhere" in the Atlantic ocean for years. How random!

Considering the value of the salvage £600,000, you would think someone would try and push it somewhere? If they found it? But who owns it, if you find it can you claim it?

Weird as it sound, I actually went on a cruise on the Lyubov Orlova back in 2005. We went from Dublin to Edinburgh, going around Scotland and touching Skye, Orkney, Shetland, and Inverness.

My friend, which is renowned for his "great ideas", convinced me that it would be a great adventure to go on a cruise on a Yugoslavian icebreaker. Yeah.

Oh God, I have stories to tell. It was the weirdest journey of my life.

So... Transport Canada just fired the ship off into international waters? Isn't that, like... kind of a dick move? Is that normal?

I'm sorry, but did you read the story?

I didn't, but I did read the title and the first paragraph which are:

Mystery of the Lyubov Orlova: Ghost ship full of cannibal rats ‘could be heading for Britain’

A ghost ship carrying nothing but disease-ridden rats could be about to make land on Britain’s shore, experts have warned.

The Lyubov Orlova cruise liner has been drifting across the north Atlantic for the better part of a year, and salvage hunters say there is a strong chance it is heading this way.

Now I don't know about you, but could be and strong chance intricate that, yes it may happen or it may just as easily not happen and it's really not on a collision cause with the British coast.

If push comes to shove, this is actually a real news thing and the public health risks warrant it, I guess the Navy could blast it to bits or they could ask the French if CDG could use it jets to do the same as we don't have any carriers just yet.

And here I thought the thread title was: Russian cruise ship with cannabis rats moving toward British coast. This is much scarier.

Kudos for the tail pun, btw.
