Star Trek Into Darkness: More Explanations

TrekToday

With the release of Star Trek into Darkness on Blu-ray, new interviews have emerged that explain or clarify choices made in the movie. Some of the topics covered include the choice of Khan as a villain, the Alice Eve underwear scene, and the future of the Federation after the events of Star Trek into Darkness. […]

I want them to explain why there are so many cameras floating around recording all this stuff. Totally unrealistic.

I enjoyed STiD in the theater. Having just finished watching it on DVD (and letting my memory fill in the blanks), I must say that I love it more now, than I did coming out of the theater.

Screw the underwear itself, they missed the opportunity to shoot the torpedo scene in zero G, and in space suits? It would have been so awesome.

And even with the limited budget, they could have done it in spacesuits on the planetoid, after all, it could have been without a breathable atmosphere.

Well, someone asked in another thread what STD achieved.

I think it will always be the one with the underwear scene.

I still love how they're sticking to their "Kirk is in his underwear too!" as if that's supposed to mean they wanted to show equal skin between the genders. All you have to do is look at the scene in question that shows Kirk in his underwear to understand why that argument is complete hogwash.

It's underwear, people. Underwear.

Get over it already. It's like no one in Trek fandom's ever opened a Sears catalog...

... oh, wait...

Well, I don't think a Star Trek story should bank on a scene that's nothing but underwear. Yes, I've seen a lot of underwear in a lot of things, but I don't think anyone would have had an issue with STID if that scene with Carol Marcus was never conceived in the first place. Heck, I would have liked to have heard more about what people thought of Alice Eve's depiction of Carol Marcus, but so far the only notable thing about her that everyone seems to talk about is her freaking underwear scene.

I'm not upset because the underwear scene exists at all, I'm upset because there is NOTHING ELSE ABOUT HER CHARACTER that you can talk about. Her character is nothing but a walking reference that doesn't do anything.

That says more about the people than it says about the scene or Alice Eve and her character.

Underwear on the beach is called a bathing suit. Just change the scenery, make the underwear as skimpy as possible, maybe just wide enough to cover holes and nipples and suddenly it's acceptable.
