Cumberbatch in Star Wars 7

If true, Cumberbatch is up for a part as a villain, "a major role that will continue throughout the whole new trilogy" - does this mean no return of Khan in Star Trek XIII? If so, I'm disappointed. He was an excellent Khan, IMO, and I was really hoping STXIII would open with him being thawed for trial and escaping.

Hell yeah....I hope BC gets it. I love Star Wars as much as Trek, Its nice to see both a director and an actor that has been committed to both film series at some point in their careers instead of the endless rivalry driven by fans.

After all the damage he inflicted in DARKNESS, I can't see any way Starfleet would allow Khan to be defrosted. Sure, he's alive. And frozen. Let him freeze. He'll never play well with others. It's over. Move on.

I was going to post an opinion that Cumberbatch playing an SW villain would be typecasting and not a good idea. But then I saw this post, and I have to agree with you, he would make an awesome Thrawn.

Not exactly. Simon Pegg and Alice Eve denied Cumberbatch was playing Khan, but everyone else, including Cumberbatch himself just danced around the issue with silly non-answers. However this denial that he's in Episode 7 is coming directly from one of Cumberbatch's representatives, which is a lot more definitive than anything they said regarding Khan.
