But in the scene at the end of The Wolverine there is a tv commercial for Trask Industries. I think the intention is that First Class is a backstory of the films made before. Why would Xavier send Logan back to change history if it was not their own?

Interestingly James Mangold shot the mid credit sequence in the Wolverine. Not Singer. Though they obviously planned it together.

I haven't seen the Wolverine yet, so I can't speak to that effect. But unless it's advertising the same things on the website, it could simply be a case of Trask Industries existing. It's just the one that evolved from the events in First Class turned into what we see on the website while the one in the original movie universe only dabbled in such things at some later point.

Pretty much like anything else you'd expect in an alternate timeline sort of deal.

I'm a little unclear as to how DOFP will catch up with Logan in the 1970s timeframe. If this is "about ten years after First Class", would Logan be working with Team X by that point, or would he still be in Vietnam? About ten years after First Class is surely too early for him to have the adamantium, right?

Once future Logan's leaves past Logan's mind then he'll be back to where he was at the beginning of DOFP movie.

I just think of First Class's Moira as the mother of the Moria from X3. It's amazing how easy it is to hand wave it away!

That might be an older model, and we'll see newer models in the film...but that seems like a lot of exposed wires and hydraulics for a robot designed to combat mutants with, well, all sorts of powers that could take advantage of that. Heck, even just Wolverine's claws.

Yeah, looks a bit of a pushover compared to the Silver Samurai.
Of course, it could be that even this is a scale model and its supposed to be a lot bigger onscreen.
