That bridge is not from an earlier Enterprise.

Keenser is [and always was] a StarFleet officer. As such, why would he NOT have an SF uniform?
The IDW comics are NOT known for visual accuracy. April should be wearing a USS Kelvin era uniform, which would be more accurate. In the bridge photo, the uniforms are closer to USS Kelvin era in style. This leads me to believe it may be a scene depicting April's Enterprise... perhaps a flashback sequence?

I'm wondering why people are even thinking that April or his ship is even going to be in the new movie at all. Those comics are just tie-in merchandise that has little or nothing to do with the movie's plot. Just like those tie-in comics from four years ago had little to do with the plot of Star Trek '09. Did we see the TNG crew in that movie, even though they were in the comics? No.

^Sorry about that. I thought this was a forum which allowed/encouraged lively discussion and debate. I'll never do it again, officer. I promise.:guffaw:

I dunno, the Countdown comics were pretty essential if you wanted to see Nero as anything more than a crazy man obsessed with killing Spock for no apparent reason.

That said, Countdown into Darkness doesn't seem to be necessary for understanding what's going on or why things are happening, but it does seem to be setting up character threads for the film (particularly Spock).

Didn't read the comic, but I'm pretty sure the apparent reason was Nero blamed Spock for the death of his wife and the destruction of his homeworld.

Thye weren't essential in enjoyin ST09, but they were completely involved in providing depth to the movie's story. Saying "nothing to do with" is just plain wrong. They had everything to do with the movie, but were done in a way to provide a rich context to the Nero character arc - not to leave movie goers clueless if they didn't read the comic. That being said, the Spock mind meld gave us back story, but I feel that the comics were essential to fully enjoy the story. That is just me. I related to Nero's "disturbed" mind-set more.

    Dukhat's right.

Saw the movie, loved it, didn't read the comic and don't care. Hardly "essential."

I don't know... I did like Countdown (I read it right after seeing the movie), but I'm greatly looking forward to the (hopefully) inevitable novelverse version of the Nero/Spock/supernova story. I expect it to be quite different, of a higher quality than the comic book, as well as a closer fit with the details of the movie itself.

Since the kreo toys' "villains" are wearing those same uniforms, I'll say it's Khan's ship. We'd know for sure if we could see the Captain's chair.

The design is closer to Kelvin than Enterprise. Could be meant to be an older ship. Would the writers be able to resist an Enterprise versus Enterprise battle? Especially if Khan has the Marcus torpedo?

Clearly Kirks Enterprise damages Khan's ship crashing into SF bay. The Enterprise doesn't come out unscathed as we see her plummeting toward earth. But I'm sure Scotty saves it in the nick of time.

I get it. KelvinĀ“s bridge is very rustic. :bolian:

So, it could be USS Bradbury

Yep, it's from Into Darkness and not the Kelvin as Daniel said.

I hope they will keep using some basic military tactics in the firefights.
