    And so it ends...

I thought this was a good one but didn't get any groans... I'll have to try harder. :)

Only when nothing's left will I become a writer.

There seems to be a lot of little things we need to go back and analyze...far more genre references than we suspect.

    "Unit 2, Engage!"

And was it Oceanic Flight 513 (Lost)?

    Lens flares..

    ----

Astrid had some great moments. She had the idea that was important to success...and an amazing goodbye to Walter. Though brief, it really highlighted what she contributes to the team.

Good ending. Not as great as I was hoping...but pretty darn good.

So they are all alive, Nina too. Walter and the child are somewhere in the future.

But what a ride it was, though.

I take it Walter died since he was not innoculated.

I was hoping for more of a bang with that final scene. Then again, I only learned the significance of the white tulip last week since I missed almost all of the first two seasons.

I thought the episode was good though. Not one of the best finales I've ever seen but it was still good.

Walter was already innoculated in 2015.

Walter innocculated himself sometime prior to being ambered.

I'd actually like it more if the ending said here, with Walter being locked up, everyone thinknig he was crazy, happened.

It wasn't horrible like Roseanne and Will and Grace, but not as great as Six Feet Under, Avatar, Boston Legal or Damages minus the last few minutes.

    Goodbye, Walter. :(

    Goodbye, Donald/September. :(

Honestly, ending on the white tulip was puzzling, but, poignant.

On the all, it was not spectacular but I liked it. They got Etta back. Walter achieved some measure of redemption.

I will miss this show terribly.

I will miss hanging out with you all.

See y'all around the board. :)

    It was kind of abrupt.

Really though, a lot of otherwise good series struggle to close out strong.

Yeah, I think I feel much the same. It was great in that it pulled out so many elements from past shows, tying the series together and taking us down Memory Lane at the same time. I think part of me hoped for something more, but yet I suppose it had to end this way.

There were a lot of touching scenes that made this memorable.

Remember that Donald had the empty envelope and they wondered what had happened to the white tulip.
And that tulip was originally sent by another time traveler.

The same here, my friend. Of all the shows that I've participated in their threads, I think I'll miss this one the most. Truly, some great moments both on screen and here on our board.

You all have been great company on Friday nights.

    And so it ends, indeed.

Well, I have to say I really enjoyed the Fringe finale and I'm going to miss the hell out of Walt who will always be one of my favorite TV characters of all time. His emotional goodbyes to Peter and Astrid broke my heart. I wish he had one with Olivia, saying that she was the daughter he never had.

I love the returns of the cow and September's Observer leader, that Olivia got to use her abilities one last time, and that Windmark finally got what he deserved. But I'm sad that September died. I wished he could have spend more time with his son. At least, he has Walter to tell him stories about September.

The final scene felt like the right note to end the show on. It was emotional and left some air of mystery about whether Peter suddenly remembered at that moment the events of the deleted future, and what will the characters do now that the Observers won't be around anymore.

And the way I see it, in this alternate timeline, the Observers were around but they were deleted from the present along with Walter and Michael like Walter told Peter would happen. This should answer the question on the minds of those of you wondering why Peter would be still alive if September was erased along with the other Observers.

Like Joshua Jackson said, he doesn't expect the finale to satisfy everyone and considers that a good thing. I agree with him. The finale wrapped everything up and yet, I was left wanting more. I want to see more of Peter, Olivia, Walter, Etta, Broyles, Astrid, and Nina. Sadly, that can't happen and that is the marking of a good ending: giving us just enough for some level of closure while leaving the rest to our imagination.

It's weird. Peter Weller was in a random episode in season 2-3 and then never seen again until last week. So Was Walter around until exactly that moment in 2016 then just gone? You would think he would want to be with his son and grandchild.

Well, I'm glad I was way off on that; an ending like that would've been a tremendous let-down, and a cheap way to go.

I am disappointed that we didn't get to see Bell (minus his hand) one last time.

I know they discussed continuing Fringe in comic book form if the show got canceled last season. Here's hoping they go ahead with those plans. I've enjoyed the Smallville Season 11 comic for instance.

These chats have definitely been fun. You've done a great job, Proc. I'm just sorry that yet another great show is over and another chat thread is finished.
