Star Wars Episode 7 - 2015

Badass!!!! That's basically want I want. Hammil as Obi-Wan.

Set Harth - Be honest. How old were you when you saw Star Wars for the first time? Because unless you were in your twenties or something that comment is just kind of odd. A new trilogy with a new generation of characters should totally also want to appeal to a new generation of viewers, just as most franchises handle their appeal.

I like the hint of the lead being a young woman. And let's remember they are in no way bound to the EU, so they could easily give Luke a sole female child for these movies (or alternately - and perhaps more plausibly - the girl could be his granddaughter.)

So there you have the ability to get Hamill, Ford and Fischer back in the movie, as a bridge to focusing the action on younger and prettier actors.

Which is basically what we've all been saying in this entire thread. :p
Sssh. Temis is addressing the strictly imaginary contingent who assumed that the new trilogy will be an Old People Reunion like the TOS films, as Temis has been doing all along.

Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine\ Toy Story 3 hired to write Episode VII.

I can't get through the end of Toy STory 3 without sobbing, so the man can definitely write.

Why would that be more plausible? It's been 30 years since Return of the Jedi. Even if Luke impregnated a woman the day right after the death of the Emperor any daughter of his would be around 29 and any child of hers would probably be around 10 at best.

By all means, let's cast our principals from a young, vapid generation that don't act real good and have no clue what SW is really about.

Because that worked so well last time.

Making money?

I have a cunning plan, the young actors they cast could use a technique known as... acting.

I think Temis sees special posts that only appear to him/her - they are like force ghosts.

As pre-production of Star Wars: Episode VII begins, Lucasfilm has confirmed that award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay for the new Star Wars film. As revealed in the ongoing video series posted here on StarWars.com, Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas have begun story conferences with Arndt. Arndt won an Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay for writing Little Miss Sunshine (2006), and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing Toy Story 3 (2010).

So now we know how they will hit that 2015 deadline.

Excellent choice. Arndt hasn't been around very long but his resume is impressive to say the least. He also co-wrote the upcoming Hunger Games film, Catching Fire.

I've seen Idris Elba's name bandied about. That would make me happy.
The very thought of it makes me happy. Maybe he could be the down-to-earth Han Solo type for this trilogy. Or some serene Jedi master. Or... just give him a big part already.
