Re: Fringe 5x04 - "The Bullet That Saved The World" (Discussion, Spoil
Alright...that was quite the shocker, wasn't it?
I wanted to like this episode, and for the most part, I did. There were some great references to the mythology of the Fringe cases and some great scenes with the Observers. However, I feel let-down by this episode.
I had heard that this episode was supposed to be a huge game-changer, thus I expected something along the lines of season three's "Entrada", but I found that the action was mostly saved until the tragic end of the episode.
The ending...that is another matter entirely.
I cannot describe how angry Etta's death makes me. I really loved her character, and to see her killed after only appearing in five episodes really upsets me and feels cheap. From a writing perspective, I can understand the move being bold, but I cannot help but feel angry at her death. I may accept it, eventually, but I'm certainly not happy about it.
Windmark now has one hell of a bulls eye on his bald head.
