Didn't see that coming even with the glyph hint. I thought this was a good episode and dug the filming as I alluded to earlier.

I'd read that there was going to be a death. I figured it was going to be either her or Broyles.

Well, it looks like Peter is going full-fledged avenging angel next week. And I'll be rooting for him. Windmark is going to get his in the end.

Alright...that was quite the shocker, wasn't it?

I wanted to like this episode, and for the most part, I did. There were some great references to the mythology of the Fringe cases and some great scenes with the Observers. However, I feel let-down by this episode.

I had heard that this episode was supposed to be a huge game-changer, thus I expected something along the lines of season three's "Entrada", but I found that the action was mostly saved until the tragic end of the episode.

The ending...that is another matter entirely.

I cannot describe how angry Etta's death makes me. I really loved her character, and to see her killed after only appearing in five episodes really upsets me and feels cheap. From a writing perspective, I can understand the move being bold, but I cannot help but feel angry at her death. I may accept it, eventually, but I'm certainly not happy about it.

Windmark now has one hell of a bulls eye on his bald head. :klingon:

I had a feeling that either Etta or Broyles was going to die in tonight's episode. I'm glad Broyles wasn't going the one to go down since I wanted to see more of him but doesn't make Etta's death any less tragic. Poor Peter and Olivia. They reunite with their child after so long only to lose her when they are beginning to be a part of her life. I can't wait to see the impact Etta's death will have on the story. I foresee some hard times for Peter and Olivia. I hope Walter and Astrid can help.

Windmark is officiall my enemy after what he did to Etta. I'm almost thought with happy relief that he got caught in the anti-matter explosion. Seems he'll be sticking around for a while.

Is the bullet on Olivia's necklace Etta found the one that was in her head when Walter shot her in Brave New World?

Poor Etta. :( I thought that might happen but I hoped not. Don't know why Widmark didn't hang around because Peter and Olivia were going to return but that's the point...he doesn't understand love and doesn't realize it at first.

Excellent episode. Definitely the best of the season so far.

It was a sad episode. It was just sad all around. I was amused that Capt. Wildmark's obsession with the colored light toy. But overall, Peter just has .... well it's not a great place.

Does anyone know what episode that gas that makes scar tissue seal up holes is from?

They bring up the parallel universe window machine and Walter is befuddled by his own handwriting, so.... the plan is from Walternate.

That would be great if you're right. Maybe we'll get flashbacks of Walter and Walternate working together through the parallel window machine.

Peter is going to be The Observers worst nightmare. First they end up erasing a son he never knew he had then they take away his daughter and murder her. They are in for a world of hurt and I hope Windmark dies horribly at his hands.

No body, no death. The Observers have the ability to move very quickly. One second is an eternity to them. They may have grabbed Etta and now she is alive in one of their labs undergoing testing. Just a thought.

It resembles an evolution of the scaly skin of those Xindi baddies... Okay coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Have to go with excellent. The necklace arc was very strong, although a nitpicker could wonder why Peter would purchase anything that might arose suspicion. Damned human sentiment.

Is that a hint or nod in regards to Simon's fate? Could it be just a coincidence?

Re: Fringe 5x04 - "The Bullet That Saved The World" (Discussion, Spoil

I was taken by surprise by Etta's death. I did not see that coming at all! I thought she was going to be around for the whole of this abbreviated final season, so her dying, and in such a cold-blooded way at the hands of Windmark was a shock.

Seems a bit of a stretch that Walter had a secret archive of Fringe stuff under the lab (accessible via a hidden trap door, no less), but otherwise I enjoyed the ep.

Also, was the necklace that Peter bought at the beginning the same bullet necklace Etta had later? If so, why did she tell Olivia she picked it up from home and had been wearing it since she was 13, if it was in fact Peter that just bought it from the pawn shop?

I'm kind of hoping that the Observers are getting help / helping the other dimension. I don't understand why they be destroying our world, unless they are future humans from the other dimension.

They melted the necklace chain two episodes ago to give Walter material, so Peter got her another one. She kept the bullet.
