Chick-fil-A digging themselves a hole

Hell is a real place, and I just gotta say, it's not a place I wanna go, it's no joke. I'm constantly amazed how many people aren't afraid of it. It's going to be a terrible, terrible place, and it is so easy to avoid. Again, another choice I suppose we must make in life. Put your faith in Jesus, ask him to forgive you for you sins, call out to him and ask him to save you from sin, enjoy the peace that overcomes you and the knowledge that you are on the path to Heaven, following a righteous God, a savior who wants the best for you, Jesus is that way, and the only way. I don't want anyone here to end up in the other place, I beg of you, do this now, this is your chance, your life on this Earth is your chance.

Just because you say things doesn't make them true.

God said them, and it's true.

Hell is a real place.

No, it isn't. Even if say, for the sake of argument it was, since I plan to be cremated I'm going to burn either way. But I'll do so with a clear conscience having not hated a group of people for loving one another and showing far more compassion, love, humanity and joy than you will ever be capable of.

If Heaven is filled with the likes of you, I'd rather go to the other place. At least I'll have better company with all the other sinners from this thread.

Hell is constant torment, pain, suffering the likes you've never experienced before, eternal fire, literally never ending, time will not end, it will go on forever and ever and ever. The horrible thing about it? Those in hell will be able to see up to heaven and know the potential that was lost to them because of their choices.

I want to follow Gods will for my life, he knows what's best for me, and his will is the will I chose to follow, not my own. I pray for all of those that are battling similar decisions and choices, please make the right one, you only have one chance right now, and it's so easy.
You're like a cartoon.

Beautiful!

More like Chick Tracts. Ugh.

A badly made Korean one with a five dollar dub.

Just for the record: the Old Testament also says that women on their menstrual cycles should be cast out and adulterers should be stoned to death. Not to mention a whole lot of other very tribal, primitive and crude things that resulted in a lot of people being ostracized, hurt or even killed even if they hadn't necessarily done anything wrong.

Just sayin'.

There's a difference between what God wants and what a tribe of Bronze Age human beings with longstanding cultural prejudices and a very limited knowledge of the world around them wants.

I agree with Brent.

And people who deny that people can "choose" or "not to choose" to perform homosexual acts, they forget "situational homosexuality" (prisons, and other times where people of the same sex are isolated) which obviously involved people "choosing".

So...you're comparing *prison rape* to a committed, loving relationship between two adults who have an emotional and heartfelt connection and want to be together and enjoy one another's constant company?

.

Who said anything about "rape" in prison? You think prisoners can't have consensual homosexual relations?

That said, people worried about the thread being locked and things of that nature should consider this:

If you want to ever have a real "discussion" about homosexual rights you can't limit it to just one side of the argument. You can't have a real "discussion" when the only posts allowed or tolerated are endless advocacy of homosexual rights.

And if you really want a "discussion" you got to be willing to extend a level of respect and politeness to those who advocate political beliefs that you might find abhorrent.

Oh don't you dare. I am polite to people and I get ignored because of it. You're playing a game here.

The only "other" side of homosexual rights discussions seems to be religious objection. Which can be dismissed out of hand as it has no solid basis to deny rights of the individual in a modern, rational society.

Good for them, thumbs up, glad to see them trying to stand up for what's right :techman:

What specifically are you thumbs upping? The "women should not be treated equally as men" part? The "women should stay in the kitchen and make their man a sandwich instead of pursuing a career" part? The "homosexual behavior should be criminalized" part?

The problem is that most people on the other side of the argument limit their responses to "But God said..." and "Well, in the Bible...."

It's impossible to have a debate in those cases. Blind faith cannot be used as evidence to support your cause.

Denying people rights because of who they are isn't a "political belief." It's bigotry. That's a FACT, not an opinion. It's the definition of bigotry.

And such a "belief" deserves no respect or politeness at all. It deserves ridicule and scorn.

Why is it so hard for you and others to understand that the Old Testament/Old Covenant is not considered for Christians or binding upon them in any way?

This is what happens why you use Peacemaker as your "spiritual advisor".

There doesn't need to be a discussion on homosexuality just as there doesn't need to be a discussion on the rights of minorities. Sensible people know that everyone deserves equal rights and are know pushing to make sure the law reflects that. The discussion on whether or not some non-existent entity cares about gay people is over. It's too bad that not everyone could move on but their views are quickly being left in the dust.

All of it. He clearly hates women as well as gays.

If the Old Testament is so unimportant to Christians, then why do we bother studying it in Sunday School? Why do we read from it during services?

No it does not. Ridicule and scorn is what people use when their own argument in intellectually bankrupt.

If the Old Testament isn't canon, then Genesis didn't happen, so there goes Creationism.

It is canon. It is historical. And it was the law at that time.

Like the Articles of Confederation were once the law of the land for the United States but have now been replaced and superceded by the Constitution.
