Pains me to say it, but they're a fcuking good football team. I can't stand watching Spain, they bore me, but Germany, again, hate to say it, but I enjoy their football. Eurgh, I feel like I need a shower after saying that!

Alas, they were fantastic. Again. I like this side a lot.

The moment of the match though was the Greek equaliser. The TV commentator here just yelled "Greece have WIPED the debt out!!". I was in tears. He then managed to fit in both Hermes and Posideon before Khedira scored!

My country has no football rivalry with Germany, so I can say that I enjoy the Germans' style without any guilt.

Well, that was pretty awesome. Germany found its style from the World Cup again (including the many wasted chances and the making the game exciting again by needlessly letting the other team score ).
Löw's shenanigans on the sideline were also quite entertaining. I felt for him. I think he wouldn't have survived another missed opportunity to score when Lahm finally did it.

That was a fun game. I just wanted goals, I'd cheer either way: Greece because they were the underdogs and Germany because of my Heritage. The best team won.

Too bad. I was kinda hoping for a French victory (though I figured Spain would win). But there's still 45 minutes left, at least. Maybe they get lucky.

In other news, I caved in today and bought a Germany shirt (looks like the jerseys of old but made out of cotton and with a newer DFB logo). I guess Die Zeit was right with their objections and football has turned me into a nationalist. Fuck.

I'm calling it now. Spain will win this tournament. I don't really see how any of the remaining teams can defeat them unless they get lucky.

Anyway, re: Spain - maybe they are boring, but they are extremely confident and competent. Disposing of France like that is not an easy task. I was quite impressed.

Spain was boring to watch, true, but its ball possession and tactical positioning was devastating. I agree with CZ, I don't see any of the current teams beating them on a fair ground. But it just take one fuck-up to get kicked out of the tournament. That's the beauty of football.

Of the three teams left in our side of the draw, England, Italy, Germany - I really hope that one of them wins. I'm not much for Portugal as I can't stand 'greaseball', and Spain, just like tonight, really do bore the fcuk out of me.

The main thing I find impressive about Spain really is how they chase to get the ball back when they actually manage to lose it. Otherwise...

That goal was an embarrassment. How the hell did they let the full-back get into the middle of the field unopposed and just nod it in so easily? Disgraceful at this level. France really didn't turn up for this one at all. This in itself wouldn't be so bad if Spain didn't just sit on a one-goal lead the instant they get it. Dull, dull, dull. I ended up watching the Radio 1 Big Weekend on BBC3 for a bit instead, for god's sake.

I really, really hope Portugal go for Spain's throat. No one else seems to even try. Ronaldo will surely be fired up for that one, a one-man army against the Spanish/Barca hordes. Sure it may not work, but at least it'll be more entertaining than this was!
