Myers Briggs Personality Tests. Or any other Similar Test. Valid?

^That's why it's only an indicator, it shows you which type you generally prefer to use. Just because you are nominally say an INTJ, doesn't mean at times you won't be an ISFP.

Of course, being INTJ, I would view life like that, wouldn't I... ;)

See? They're everywhere!

Also that explains so much about you. :p

Yeah, I'm very intensely INTJ. Well, not so much so on the J-P spectrum, but definitely very strongly on the other dimensions.
Funny, I have almost exactly the same result: deep I, N, and T, fuzzy between J and P. (Actually, this is changing with age: I was moderate J, now I'm almost in the middle between J and P, depending on mood.)

Funny, but not surprising. :D

Never heard of that - is it similar to the reflex-arc response test?

It's an empathy test: Capillary dilation of the so-called blush response; Fluctuation of the pupil; Involuntary dilation of the iris... Voight-Kampff for short.

That was a gag on my part, within the book, when Deckard gets taken to the police station full of androids, they have never heard of the Voight-kampff test and instead use the reflex-arc response test using 'Boneli gear' to work out who is human and who is an android.
Yup -I just continued it by quoting the film (albeit a different scene altogether). :)

my weakest one is on the N/S side.

Being on the border between INTJ (Mastermind) and INTP (Architect), I've often joked that my Keirsey Temperament Sorter's archetype in the Town Planner.

Between INTJ (Mastermind) and ISTJ (Inspector), yours would be, mh, the Police Commissioner? ;)

I retook the test to see what my leanings are, as I know I am borderline on a couple things.

I - 56%, a "moderate" preference toward introversion over extroversion
N - 62%, a "distinctive" preference toward intuition over sensing
T - 12%, a "slight" preference toward thinking over feeling
J - 33%, a "moderate" preference toward judging over perceiving

Given that I am not far off from an INFJ, I guess I am some combination of "Mastermind" and "Confidant," myself.

I'm not sure I really like the "Mastermind" label, though. I've heard INTJ described as the "System Builder," which seems more appropriate for me. A "mastermind" implies more leadership qualities than I think I probably possess. I can lead, but it's not really my preference to.

That's a classic INTJ trait, they make capable leaders and will step up if need be, but much prefer to work in a deputy leader role.

You seem way more INTP to me than INTJ, but I could be wrong!

So who here isn't INTJ? :P

As I said, I'm getting mellow with age. I was quite uncopromising in my youth.

From what I've read, what puts me in the INTJ field is my love for classification systems (organizational tables, catalogues, mathematical models, etc.), and the fact that I am an obsessive planner (to steal from The Hunt for Red October, I don't even go to the bathroom without a plan).

On the other hand, I have a knack for the use of language, a INTP trait. Also, I guess I am a bit more sociable than the typical INTJ, with more considerations for social niceties as smal talks, chit-chats, and even flirting. But that could just be that I'm Italian. ;)

I agree with you there about the Iguana Kestra. And I'm certainly not an INTJ, LOL

We INFJs continue to be thin on the ground, it seems. I sense that I'm outnumbered by the INFPs and INTJs here.

I'm either an INTJ or an ENTP. It somewhat depends upon my mood and circumstance.
Strange, I was just about to post the same thing.

I've been doing a bit of research to help explain it. Apparently, it may have something to do with "shadow functions." The shadow functions of an INTJ mimic an ENTP, and the shadow functions of an ENTP mimic an INTJ.

Later personality researchers [24] added four additional functions to the descending hierarchy, the so-called "shadow" functions to which the individual is not naturally inclined but which can emerge when the person is under stress. The shadow processes "operate more on the boundaries of our awareness…We usually experience these processes in a negative way, yet when we are open to them, they can be quite positive."

We must breed, to increase our numbers.

INTJ's and INFJ's are amongest the rarer types, but the country in which you reside can slightly affect the percentage found in the population.

Though as an INTJ, I feel I must ask is this thread working, and regardless of the answer can it be improved? :p
