Been looking forward to this episode all week, and saw the end of "Blackwater" last night. I'm really going to be curious how they wrap up everything else in the hour and ten minutes they have since last week was all about one storyline. There's still like 5 other storylines that need some kind of resolution, or something to hold people over until Season 3. I'm a bit worried things are going to get rushed.

I can't believe that as of tonight that this season is over. It went by really fast.
I caught up on both seasons of this series over the past three weeks. After tonight it's going to be murder having to wait until next year.

I guess I'll just have to rewatch the first two seasons again and pick up on things I might have missed the first time around.

Wasn't much of an ending episode. Wasn't a whole lot given. The ending didn't really have me going BOY I CAN'T WAIT TILL SEASON 3. Wasn't impressed, actually kind of let down.

That was fucking epic. So emotional, too. Tyrion crying into Shae was heartbreaking as was Maester Aemon's death. I knew it was all coming but, wow, did I want to cry.

The House of the Undying was a little different but I still really enjoyed it.

Now. That ending. HOLY SHIT. Absolutely terrifying. Better than I imagined it in the book, too. For a second I was worried we'd just see the shadows in the distance but then we saw the wights and I was happy but still hoping we'd see the white walkers. Then there was the horse and I knew who was riding on top of it. Damn. Unbelievable ending.

Maester Aemon
Maester Luwin. Maester Aemon is the Night's Watch guy who hasn't appeared this season.

Good episode, for the most part, working to give every story at least some closure.

But the changes to Robb's story are so fucking stupid, I'm really concerned.

This episode had a lot of good stuff in it. The moment between Shae and Tyrion was really poignant and well done. I feel like Tyrion is one of the more well-rounded characters in a moral sense. He's not entirely good, but he's not entirely bad either.

Lord Baelish is getting creepier with each episode. That scene with him and Sansa made my skin crawl.

I was really impressed with the scene in the House of the Undying; I was not expecting the dragons to be quite so potent. That being said, I have a feeling that that illusion of the throne room in King's Landing is foreshadowing for the future (I haven't read the books yet so don't tell me).

I get the feeling that there is something more to Jaqen than meets the eye, what was that trick he pulled in this ep? He suddenly changed his face!

One of the things that I love about this show is the music, and I really liked the music in this ep.

And that ending... oh man that was creepy. The view just kept panning out and my jaw just dropped. I could not believe how many of those White Walkers there were. As for the horse and rider... that is an image I won't be forgetting any time soon.

It seems to serve as a further sign that without any doubt, winter is coming.

Question about Shae for those who have read the books (BIG SPOILERS):

Ok, I'll admit I'm a spoiler junkie and read some plot summaries. Is it true that in the end Shae really was only after Tyrion's money and eventually betrays him? And does it seem like the show is heading in the same direction? Because oh boy I found tonight's scene absolutely painful if this is true!

Everything's better with zombies.

Yeah, yeah, I'm sure those aren't exactly zombies (but close enough! :)).

Did one of those thugs remind anyone of Sean Bean, I thought that middle guy looked a lot like him.

I've really got to pick up these books....

HOT FLAMING PORK BUNS!

that was far and above any expectations I had
by golly it's going to be a long year waiting for season 3

Absolutely incredible. I just don't know what to say.

I'm not sure how I'm going to make it until April 2013.

Fantastic episode to cap off a mostly great season. I found the changes to Robb's storyline a little disappointing, too. I think the way they did it here comes off as too fairy tale, whereas what happened in the book was completely believable behavior for the son of Ned Stark.

It was awesome to see the White Walkers out in force like that. And I laughed so damn hard at the resolution to Theon's epic speech. :guffaw:

Excellent... I actually liked this episode better than "Black Water" - maybe that was because I was so anxious that BW would live up to the hype.

Anyway, so many good scenes - some favorites:

- Stannis/Melisandre - probably my *favorite* scene of the episode for some reason, I really liked the shot of the flames reflecting in their eyes
- Dany/Drogo - a very nice surprise
- The other Dany visions - quite different from the books, but I just loved the shots of her walking up to the iron throne, and going out beyond the wall
- Tyrion/Shae was a very nice scene
- The cliff hanger! Finally a full clear shot of a White Walker. It did not disappoint - and they made them a lot whiter here, compared to the pilot episode. (makes sense in the open snow)

I need to watch it again! :)

Ha! They used the prologue of Book 3 as a cliffhanger. We called it half a year ago. :techman:

Loved that they got Jason Momoa back for this episode.

I loved everything in the episode but the first vision the warlock showed to Dany. If he was trying to tempt her to stay in one of the illusions so as to maintain his power wouldnt a throne room full of devoted and fearful subjects have been better than an empty and destroyed throne room? Yes that one scene was my only quibble. Completely enjoyed the rest of the episode. Now the long wait until next season.

looks like the Draugr hitched a ride from Skyrim :p
