(2011)-2012 NBA Season

World Peace is the only one of the 4 who would be hard to move -- actually impossible. We could trade Pau to Houston tomorrow if we wanted. Kevin McHale loves Pau -- sees a bit of himself, of course -- in the big Spaniard. We could trade Bynum at any time to half the teams in the league. They'd all make room for him. Kobe would be hard but I think Chicago would move heaven and earth to get him (and should).

I think trading for Bynum is going to be less certain now, after his latest disappearance. Just when you think he's turned the corner, he loses something. Whether it's concentration or dedication to winning or what have you, he has to be one of the most frustrating players around. He was deservedly an all-star this year, but then later in the season he just didn't seem to play with the same fervor. He might well be worth the gamble, but he's still a gamble.

I wish God damn ESPN would quit reporting that those people were shot right outside Chesapeake arena in OKC. :scream: They were shot in front of Bricktown Ball Park about a mile away and the incident, while tragic, had zero to do with the game or the celebration. A couple of gangbangers started shooting at a group of women who'd spurned their advances and were mouthing off. It was a gang thing--not a game thing. They shot at the girls and hit them and five more people. Thank the maker no one died, but they've been arrested already.

No, ESPN, it wasn't people celebrating the victory or trying to nail the Lakers' fan. Christ, I hate that network. :censored:

Andrew is a long armed 7 footer who can score, defend, rebound, and has championship (winning championship) experience. He is the second best center in the league and at 24 has just begun to enter his prime years. He has more upside than any other center in the league including Dwight Howard. I doubt there are more than a small handful of teams in the league who wouldn't give up major assets for him.

My guess is that none of these teams would be swayed by his playoffs this season. Bigs with Andrew's size and skills are rare and exceedingly hard to come. But rest assured, Andrew will definitely not be traded this off season.

Ah, Celts going to game 7 against the 6ers. Go 6ers!!! In fact, go Heat, Pacers, and whoever the frack else is still alive in the sorry ass east OTHER than the Celts.

:) I want cake. Good cake. Very good cake.

In case anyone's interested, the two little twat bags who were shooting at the girls have been identified. They're 19 and 16 years old. One of the girls they shot at was pregnant. The other individuals hit just happened to be in the crossfire. Frigging "domestic dispute" as it were. Unbelievable. :scream: Our pussy of a mayor wants to close down Thunder Alley because he fears liability issues now. It didn't happen because of the post game celebration. It had nothing to do with that. Nothing at all.

That's a sad story, regardless of the motivation.

Sixers win yesterday, proving there's a fine line between great defense and just an ugly, ugly game.

The only people I want to win the NBA less than the Heat are the Lakers. Well, 70% of the time anyway.

Kind of sad to see the Pacers go. I liked their game. Lebron and Wade just tore it up though. If they continue to play like that and Bosh comes back, they're going to be tough to beat. I still think OKC or SA can handle them though.

So game 7 Sixers-Celtics is starting. Seriously, who thought there would be a game 7?

As pointed out, the game 7 the Celtics lost at home was against the Sixers. Then again, they had Julius Erving and Andrew Toney (whose nickname was the Boston Strangler) back then. I think the Sixers have proven they can make this game competitive, but we'll see how it turns out.

:scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream:

Once again the Thunder cannot hold a lead against San Antonio to save its life. They go into the 4th quarter with a lead, playing lights out defense on Parker all night, disrupting his flow.....and they blow it again. It's the same damn story all year long. The Spurs only had to show up for 12 minutes and that was all she wrote. Durant, Westbrook, Harden in the 4th....ice cold. They stop moving the ball to either side of the floor so the San Antonio defense can key on them better. Steven fucking Jackson who hasn't shot for shit all night long suddenly hits threes for SA. Thabo and OKC's defense, superb for 3 quarters simply dies and San Antonio finally makes some key baskets. Once again, OKC lets its foot off San Antonio's throat.

Yes, the fourth foul on Perkins made a difference. Our good referee buddy Joe Crawford screwed us again and that flop that the refs allowed from SA in the 4th was infuriating....the game should be called consistently through 4 quarters and it wasn't, but that's life on the road. They could have stolen a game on the road and sent a statement to the mighty Spurs.

But they didn't. Oklahoma City cannot hold a lead against San Antonio with the game in the balance. I thought that Thabo being back might swing it the other way but he has to play 4 quarters, not 3. He didn't. You'd think that the law of averages would eventually catch up with SA, but apparently not. Or maybe it did, but the Thunder still blew it.

That's not me being negative or throwing a fit. It's just what I've seen all season long continued. My congratulations to the Spurs, you've won the series already. Hopefully my Thunder can show some pride when they get back to OKC, but they have zero chance of beating San Antonio four times. They threw everything they had at them and it simply wasn't good enough. Same story, different verse. There's no way to beat them. Unfortunately, I think San Antonio will sweep them after all. It was a great season, but I knew this would happen. Damn. :( I was having such fun.

Damn, I left the gym at the start of the 4th quarter and figured, there's San Antonio's first loss. Fish hitting threes, Harden playing well, and OKC up by 9.

Then I come home and... WTF?

It is that maturity issue again, I think. And the Spurs have that in spades.
