Might have been an optical illusion from perspective distortion/foreshortening - would be my guess.

it is from a photo with him next to Green Lantern I flipped it for reference. Like I said I may go back and tweak his right Eye. but right now I have 6 commissions to finish. I appreciate the crits and welcome them in the future. Thanks for the support and input.

Here is a set of 3 sketchbook pages done last night/ early this morning.

The Prime Sketch took about 10 minute.
The ships are a series of 5 minute sketches.
Finally the Trek one is my take on a line from the old StarTrekin song.

I decided to create a Federation Stargate Patch for fun for this image.

Stargate was never on Fox. Nor was DS9. They both may have been picked up by your local Fox affiliate since they were syndicated shows.
