Propose new aliens

he had this ridiculous...thing that connected his nose to his chin and covered the center of his mouth.

Funny how a lot of viewers instantly remember that guy.

I always imagined if that poor schmuck got in a fight, his opponent need only grab that "jug handle" stretch of flesh and pull upon it to thwart him, kinda' like putting the squeeze on a guy's "happy sacks".

Sincerely,

Bill

I've always wanted to see a living Xindi-Avian.
I like to think that's what the bird creature Pike saw in The Cage was.
Interesting theory! I did imagine them to be a little bit more futuristic though. And capable of flying. ;)
I always imagined they'd look like the Skorr from the animated series

Personally, I'd like to see something crab like, similar to how they did Waternoose in Monsters Inc. They could either do it digitally (with motion capture for the top half) or advanced puppets like they did for Farscape

As well as Observer Effect in season 4. In fact, those aliens were specifically identified as the Organians.

True enough. Just off the top of my head:

TOS - Sargon's gang
TNG - The aliens from Clues
DS9 - The Prophets and the Pah-Wraiths
VGR - Having trouble with this one. Does the sentient warhead taking over the Doctor's programming count?

Voyager- The one where Chakotay's spirit was wandering the ship, and a nebula entity took over Tuvok's body

How's about a character like Ensign Jitercia (from the Stargazer novels) in the next series? A gaseous alien who has to stay confined in an EVA suit. Would definately be different for on screeen races.

^ Realistically, that would be a character so alien and so unrelatable it might as well be a Vorlon. There's plenty of traction for that sort of character, but as an Ensign it seems kind of strange.

Any aliens made of energy.

Pure energy. ;)

I hate "Energy aliens" with a vengeance. They are the ultimate nonsense trope that keeps cropping up in science fiction.

Think about it : PURE ENERGY. What is pure energy? Energy doesn't have a substance or an innate pure form, energy is a concept related to the storage and transfer of potential for events.

Typically they are depicted (if they have any visible form at all) as a floating glob of light. Which isn't really any better. A floating glob of light or whatever doesn't have any structure, and that's the biggest barrier I can see to any kind of "pure" energy being. You need to have structure for a mind to function. Physical conductive pathways for electric current to flow along, that sort of thing. With a single nebulous blob of so-called "pure energy" you don't exactly have that.
