I just started playing a little today, and just played through the tutorial but I have to say the UI is still a little confusing.

Disappointed that other than more instances, nothing seems to have really changed. Was expecting a little more celebration, announcement on login, little decoration around ESD, maybe a special DOFF mission, something. Didn't notice anything other than more questions than usual in Zone chat, and an actual honest-to-god DEV in the game. Guess they DO exist...

I also just started playing today. (Great bday present, ty STO!) I'm Killandra Wren on there if anyone wants to find me. :)

Easier if you can give your Character@handle name. Even just the @handle should be enough. It'll be your login user name, I think. For example, I've got a few different characters, but they are all @Jscout33. If you look for the TrekBBS Fleet, you can probably find someone to send you an invite most of the time, join in the fun...

Had a great time this morning, hanging out with some of our TrekBBS Fleet, during the event at Club 47 on the Earth Spacedock.

Around 4pm GMT+1, Doc Lee put on his cleanest fleet uniform and headed to Starfleet Academy hoping to get in a little recruiting for the fleet. The place was almost a ghost town and no sign of anyone new. Ah, perhaps they were at Earth Space Dock. However, no such luck. No sign any new people. Perhaps it was too soon.

Doc Lee returned around 10pm GMT+1 and checked the official party schedule. He then headed to Drozana Station. He invited the other fleet members online, but no response…

Drozana Station had a hot dance party going on. Doc Lee did his best Justin Howard (air guitar) imitation for the Massively host, but he didn’t seem impressed. Except for the host, Doc Lee was the lowest ranking individual at the party, everyone else was Vice Admiral.

So in summary, in 3 hours of online play split between two time periods, only one new person was encountered. That person was the Massively host. I can only assume that sometime today or tomorrow, the new players will be finished downloading the game. Of course by then all the F2P parties will be over…

I didn't really expect a huge party at all.
new players will want to jump right into the action and play missiosn and stuff.
When everyone has settled in there is more time for confetti and baloons.
The 2 year anniversary that is comign up will do that nicely.

Other wise there were a few dance partys and some events like PvP, costume and trivia contests I believe.
Most of it did not happen on ESD but DS9.

Oh my you are right. I forgot that the 2nd anniversary is around the corner (2 Feb). That should be a blast. Now where did I leave my partypopper from last year...
