It's MUM not mom, it's COLOUR not Color

don't forget honour. It's something that I just put up with. Quite often I have to spell something the American way (when programming for example). Doesn't end the world.
 
It's lift, not elevator. ;)

PS My nieces actually call my sister "Mom" despite living in Ireland.
 
Colour, harbour, centre, tire, mom.

I mean, tyre... really? :evil:

Actually Tyre and Tire mean two entierly different things in English (might not apply to variants of English such as American English)

Tyre is what you put on a car/van/bike etc..

Tire is what you do if you work too much.

same for words like

Metre= A unit of measure
Meter=A Device used to record a measurment of something

Though I do like the fact that in ST they use the British term lift as in turbolift and not turboelevator.
 
All these different spellings are scary and confusing. When will we learn that the rich, diverse evolution of language in it's written form is an abomination of the worst kind? Oh, Esperanto...why did we forsake thee? WILL NOBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?
