Thanks for all that info. It sounds like my favorite episodes were more spread out than I remembered. And I would definitely want the reunion movies, too (and, yeah, I remember Sandra Bullock in her gymnast outfit :D).

It's not about having fun! It's about proving oneself! Serious business....

I don't think I've seen an ep of this show since it was still in production. I read the book a few years back, and enjoyed it even if it was very dated.

So what if it's dated? Does that mean you can't watch it now and appreicate it for what it is? If so, why not?

A disgruntled scientist threatens deaths with a weapon of his invention.

This is more like it. :techman: We have a decent story and decent performances from all. And to boot we have the right music. The opening credits are worth the price of admission alone. And at this stage the sound f/x are still low-key and the stunts are made to look reasonably credible.

My only quibble is when Austin throws his makeshift concrete and steel javelin I don't understand why the truck blows up on impact. It just seemed contrived. Actually all Austin had to really do was get a good sized rock and knock the truck's sonic antenna off, but that mightn't have seemed as dramatic. Maybe he actually was aiming for the antenna apparatus and his throw went a bit low.

^Basic TV physics: all gasoline-powered vehicles explode on impact, with occasional delay barely sufficient to allow the escape of characters still needed for the story. Vehicles that go off cliffs occasionally explode before impact.

^I did watch an episode of Knight Rider the other day where a car was forced off a cliff and did not explode.

Though I guess it's only worth mentioning because it's an exception to the rule.

He is talking about the book being dated, not the show. And he said that he enjoyed it anyway.

Of it's time but I remember it fondly. Best eps are the ones with bigfoot, the Venus probes and the one with Meg Foster as a stranded alien

    Nnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Yes, well, book or show, my point stands. Something being dated is no reason not to enjoy it.

Right, Randy. You actually quoted the post in which he said he enjoyed it, and asked why he couldn't enjoy it.

Killers intent to kill Oscar Goldman are among the survivors of a shipwrecked aircraft.

Meh. I found it rather slow paced. It was also somewhat predictable. And what was the point of having Joanne Worley guest star? Yeesh! Essentially there wasn't much of interest going on in this episode.

Joanne Worley. :rommie: I imagine a lot of the fun of revisiting this show will be seeing the popular stars and character actors of the day making their appearances.

Not to quibble but can an aircraft be shipwrecked? I remember a pre-Hart to Hart Stephanie Powers in a few eps

Yeah, you're going to have to explain how Harve Bennett is a better producer than Glen Larson.

That was probably the most memorable scene for me when I was a kid. If I'm doing yard work and pick up a heavy branch or something, I still reenact that scene (as long as no one can see me). :D

I decimated the whole neighborhood once. Those FedEx trucks had better watch out.
