For the 'Fictional traitor' category of our contest I am proud to present Senator/Supreme Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine (or Darth Sidious to use his real name). A man who led both sides in a bloody civil war and used the lives of millions to further his own lust for power. He pretended to defend democracy whilst working to destroy it, he led many a noble idealist to their corruption and then betrayed them in the end. A man who used an entire galaxy as his tool has to be the greatest traitor in fictional history...

DS9 Theme: Gowron deserved to be removed from power, as he rarely if ever wielded it wisely.

Random Theme: Lord Antono Refa. A man who conspired against the rule of the wise and benevolent Turhan, arranged the assassination of Prime Minister Malachi and put a monster on the throne, all so he could rededicate the Centauri to imperial expansion. Unlike Londo Mollari, who shares in the conspiracy, he never showed the slightest guilt or regret and didn't even care for the Centauri people - only his own potential for power. Who could forget how casually he dismissed the treaties his people had signed as "ink on a page!"?
