The scariest episode of Star Trek?

Oh, Miri, when at the very beginning that man-child comes after Kirk for breaking his tricycle. There was something so wrong about that seen that made me (aged 6) just start shaking. I couldn't finish it.

TOS: Amok time. Scary from the beginning to the end, and full of bitterness.

The best of both worlds is among the scariest trek, the borg are fucking relentless in that episode. The captain being abducted was genuinely creepy, the way they just barge in and decapitate the entire ship. TNG era borg were absolutely horrible.

Yeah, mixed the frustration of having to wait all summer to find out what happened...!

TOS episode "The Empath" sent a chill down my spine when I first saw it. Fred Phillip's makeup job on the 2 aliens was scary, and also the fact that Kirk, Spock, and McCoy were virtually helpless against the tortures of Lal and Thann really spooked me.

Not the episode, but the scene where you see a woman fumbling her way around a corner then you realise. she. hasn't. got. a. face!

Charlie X

Scared me half to death :eek:

Yeah, I was scared too when I was a boy watching it in the 70's. Charlie X as TOSalltheway says.

The first episode I ever saw was The Cloud Minders, and I (the little boy me) found the torture scene with Vanna tied to the post frightening.

I also think the sound of the Klingon phasers executing the Organians in the background in Errand of Mercy is kind of scary too.

But I only ever hid behind my knees rewatching Charlie X. :D

Oh, yeah, that was really creepy! One of the many reasons why I hate Charlie X.

What got me about that episode was a scene where the kids are beating Kirk, and they cut the a shot of a little girl just kind of smiling at the violence. Real disturbing to me.

The scariest for me was The Man Trap. I saw it when I was 8 and the salt vampire scared me out of my wits. Not long after, I was given a copy of The Making of Star Trek, and it had a photo of the creature in it. I refused to look at that page for years.

Other moments that stand out for me are Worf spitting acid in Crusher's face and Barclay spider from Genesis, all of Conspiracy, and the faceless woman in Charlie X.
