America's Attack on the Lemonade Stand

The war was illegal, Lincoln was a war criminal for okaying the slash and burn policies that burnt down homes, slaughtered cattle and salted the fields to destroy the food supply of CIVILIANS...

You are incorrect.

How am I incorrect?

Because you are spouting a very skewed view of history as told by white supremacists and southern sympathizers. Your very usage of the term "War of Northern Aggression" indicates you have accepted a severely biased version of the events surrounding the Civil War. The version you have accepted is the very propaganda that you accuse others, including myself, of believing.

Here, start with this: The Declaration of Causes of Secession.

"The lemonade stand is often a child's first business venture," says Mary Ann Hupp, 41, a creative director at a marketing agency and one of the motherly promoters of the event. "We hope this project is an example for our children that they should be proactive and take initiative in life."
Link.

In the words of Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe, "THIS SUCKS! THIS IS TOTAL B.S.!"

I fondly remember operating a lemonade stand as a kid, then helping my siblings do same in the summer months in Virginia. Whilst driving down the street here in Long Beach last week, I saw some kids running one of their own and happily sampled their refreshing brew.

Did you ever run a lemonade stand? Do you think it's kind of dumb for law enforcement to be shutting them down?

Why does America hate America? :(

Pretty much on all the facts.

I'm looking for details, all I am seeing at the moment is yankee arrogance...not the same thing i reckon...

I'll see what it say's i am suspicious of it tho....

I see you got taught the propaganda that was spewed forth from northern schools about the illegal war of northern aggression, it was fought over state rights and unfair trade tariffs, slavery was a very small part of it that has been inflated to give the illegal war an air of moral justification.

You are incorrect.

The war was illegal ...

Let me stop you right there. Yes, the war WAS illegal. And the South started the war, not the North.

No, the north refused to abandon a military base in southern territory, they were instigating the war, the south had no choice but to eventually force the yankees out of the military base.

It wasn't "southern territory". If someone declared that they now owned your front porch, and they demanded you leave it and you didn't, does that give them the right to take "their" newly claimed property? Such was the situation of Fort Sumter, which was actually the property of the U.S. Army. The newly formed Confederacy demanded they leave, when they had no authority to do so, and attempted to take the fort by force.

The South seceded from the US. They were in open rebellion. They attacked a Federal installation. If that doesn't mean starting a war, i don't know what does.

From lemonade stands to the War of Northern Aggression in one page. Ninjacore is covering all the greatest hits in her provoking fights tour. Next up: Abortion and circumcision.

I think at least a cop who doesn't have anything better to do should at least talk to the kids to check out if it's on the up-and-up, to make sure they're not getting up to shits and giggles and selling "lemonade" which is really some home brew designed to make people retch (teens are jerk asses like that). Just making sure? Ok. A big court affair? No.

Maybe I am letting my dislike of children seep in a little, but I don't think I would trust any lemonade bought from a kids stand. Not unless it was tested for urine first.:barf2:

I never operated a lemonade stand, nor did I buy from one. I don't like lemonade anyway.

I did play the Apple // computer game 'Lemonade' quite voraciously though. :)

You know what's fun when you're a kid? Operating a beer stand. You can make a shitload of money that way. The great part is that since you're a minor, you can't get arrested, and maybe, if they're corrupt enough, you can pay off the cops in free beer!

. . . Why regulate people selling anything? Who cares if what they're selling meets basic safety standards or anything like that? There's money to be made! If you can save money on your lemonade by diluting with toilet water, by God, that's your right.
Why would anyone do that? That stuff is rather expensive, isn't it?

A proponent of slavery? In favor of child labor? Letting black people be considered 3/5ths of a person?
Blacks were NEVER considered "three-fifths of a person." :brickwall:
The Constitution originally provided for counting three-fifths of the TOTAL NUMBER of slaves (not all blacks were slaves). The famous "three-fifths compromise" was about representation in Congress, not about the relative value of one human life vs. another.

You're Canadian, right? Well, every real American likes lemonade. You probably drink vodka. With fluoride in it! :p

As someone who grew up in and currently lives in the South, let me just say :wtf:. (Towards Ninjacore's posts, of course.)

(Where's that popcorn smiley when you need it?)

While I slipped on the letter, I'm still correct in the spirit of it. A black man was not equal to a white man, otherwise there would have been no need for a "compromise".

You can borrow mine :D
