Summer's here! UGH!

It has been hot in Phoenix AZ. Up to 117 or 118 last week. And since the car broke down I have been doing a lot of walking in the hot sun. The monsoon will be here soon, so it will be a little cooler, 110 for a high, but the humidity goes way up.

That is completely insane. I hope everyone is staying safe.

Thanks for the concern :) As long as I drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen I'm okay. By the way I love your avatar. I am always pleased to see that you have posted because I get to see Kaylee's smiling face :)

It's 68 degrees here now but expected to get to 92 by the afternoon. It's windy too.

After that run of 101+ the last four days, I feel almost like putting on my jacket.

I absolutely despise summer, but currently it's not too bad. I live a paradoxal life, I live at he beach. I hate summer, I hate ocean water, I hate day light, I hate clear sky's. I love the mountains, I love river and lake water and I love rain and snow, I love the dark, I love the winter and I love the cold. I should probably move to Alaska or Northern California, not sure which one i'd like better, I haven't been to Alaska yet. So, this is the point where Summer ends for me. I like June and early July, but that's it.

not much of a summer over here, but we had a few nice thunderstorms last weekend. A fire engine was literally blown over into a flooded meadow

Except for the firemens' pride, nobody was hurt :D

^ :D

Summer is awesome, especially hot ones. I'm told I was born on an especially hot 12th of July.

Weather here in Phoenix today is hot and shitty with continued hot and shitty throughout the rest of the week. Chance of thunderstorms. By thunderstorms they mean lots and lots of dirt flying around, some lightening, lots of noise, and if you are lucky 0.001 inches of moisture to make the dirt stick to everything.

It's 29 degrees here today--but feels like 35. :ack:

Where are you? You must be freezing.

Canada. 35 is 95 Fahrenheit, I believe. I'm sure that sounds pretty good to someone who lives in Phoenix, but with this high humidity, it feels like the outer circle of Hell to me.

Plunge the temperature down to minus 35 (-31 F), and I'd be perfectly happy. Crank it up to 35, and I turn into a mewling, sweat-drenched wimp.

Fortunately, we are in the midst of thunderstorm right now--a real thunderstorm, with rain and everything. Hopefully that will reduce the humidity somewhat.

I thank God every day that I don't live in Arizona. You guys always seem to be upwards of 120 plus in the shade--even in winter.

California is hot enough, even in winter. Arizona would do me in.

I can totally relate to that. It's never temperatures, always the humidity that gets to me. I could never go on vacation in, say, Thailand or something.

"At least it's a dry heat" may be cliche, but I definitely prefer a dry 40°C to a high-humidity 30°C.

Agh!!! :scream:

The humidity!

The thunderstorms do nothing!

Tell me about it. I grew up on the prairies.

The Canadian prairies: it's a dry cold!

Here in Stillwater we set a record high again today making it 13 record highs in a row. If the forecast holds, there will be at least six more. This is crazy. It's 90 degrees here as I type this at 12:41 AM.
