TrekBBS Dream Journal...

My recurring dreams are essentially similar in theme, but the details are different from time to time. For example, one recurring theme I mentioned before is being inside a large house with several bedrooms and bathrooms. At times, it feels as if I live there with my relatives or the house belongs to someone else. In any case, when I try to take a shower, I notice that there are huge, clear glass windows with absolutely no drapes or curtains for privacy. I looked up the interpretation of the symbols but still couldn't make sense of them myself; I don't know why I have this dream from time to time.

^I have a question for those with recurring dreams: are the dreams exactly the same every time, or the same but with minor differences? I ask because I have never had a recurring dream myself, although I have an event that has happened more than a few times in dreams, that being a busy signal or no one answering the phone when I dial 911. In every instance the dream, and the reason for my dialing 911 are completely different. I can't really imagine having exactly the same dream twice, let alone a multitude of times.

^I have the same types of dreams where I'm trying to call 911, but the phone doesn't seem to work. Either I can't read the keypad to figure out which numbers are which, or there's no dial tone, or the battery's dead. I also used to have similar dreams where I was running late for work and wanted to call them, but I couldn't get the phone to work.

Just a few days ago, I had a dream where I was trying to use the phone in an emergency. But when I picked up the handset, there was no dial tone. Instead, I could hear a man saying threatening things. I hung up and tried again, but I could not disconnect from the call with the scary man.

Oddly enough, the one time I had to dial 911 in real life, the dreams about the phone not working actually stopped for about a year or so. I guess showing my subconscious that the system really works carried over.

^For me the 911 dreams stem from personal experience, as I had to dial 911 several times as a kid (though I always got through in actuality). Or, if we want to be psychoanalytical about it, it could stem from being in a lot of situations as a child where some one probably should have helped me, but no one ever did.

I had a dream this morning about a karaoke event at work. Every year during the Asian Pacific Heritage month in May, a group of employees at work organizes a karaoke event during the lunch hour, similar to American Idol. Employees can sing solo or perform as a group.

In my dream, the karaoke was a big event that guests and other viewers were invited, and it was held at a venue with a stage and stadium seating. I remember sitting in a row of seats next to my mom and just behind my sister and a group of women. Unfortunately, at the start of the event, it appeared that there were only a handful of employee contestants who signed up. The first one performed Black Magic Woman by Santana, a song that was previously sung IRL by one of our employees from last year's event. This man had a band that performed with him but didn't even sing a note! All they did was play their instruments.

Although the organizers had a program that was planned ahead of time, they were also doing things impromptu due to the lack of participants. My co-workers started goading me to sing, since I performed with a group of co-workers last year and I always loaned my karaoke system to the organizers. I thought about it, given the short time, and realized I needed a lot of preparation--I had to take a shower because my hair was a mess, I needed some presentable-looking clothes, etc. Also, I was looking for a specific song that I wanted to sing but couldn't remember what it was. There was much anxiety, and then I woke up. :borg: Anyway, I'm looking forward to this year's event.

I had a dream last night that I was on a ship and sharing a large suite with some people. We weren't going to be there very long before the ship docked. One of the guys sharing the suite told me that the bathroom was very fancy so I decided to take a shower before the ship docked.

The bathrooms in my dreams tend to be very odd, and this was no exception. It was larger than my living room at home, and the walls were made of glass. I could actually see people on the deck outside of the bathroom, but there were curtains that I could close for privacy. Also, it seemed odd that the floor was carpeted but the white carpet was covered with clear plexiglass to keep it from getting wet. I couldn't find the shower head first, but the water seemed to rain down from the ceiling to turn the entire room into one large shower. There was a pretty nice selection of free Burt's Bees toiletries, and my quick shower turned into a facial treatment. Of course, I had a clay face mask on when one of the boys knocked on the door to tell me that it was time to leave the ship.

Sometimes I wonder if certain symbols actually have meanings or significance in real life, just like the details you described in your dream.

The other night, I had yet another dream involving a former classmate of mine back in grade school named "Chris." I haven't seen this guy in over a decade since I went on vacation to my native country. He's one of my Facebook contacts, but like my old friend Joe, who I previously mentioned from another dream, I don't really have much contact with Chris.

In the dream, however, Chris and I and a group of other people were in a classroom at some community college. I forget what the class was about, but he and I were talking and started flirting with each other. Chris is a straight guy in real life, and last time I heard, he's married with two kids of his own.

Now I ask myself, "Why do I keep having these sexy/romantic dreams with heterosexual guy friends I haven't seen or heard from in ages?" Chris is a good-looking guy, and under different circumstances, I would do him. :p

Believe it or not I have never had this dream before. But I had a dream I was a Transformer!!! It was strange...I kinda looked like Skyfire from G1...but I transformed into a space shuttle like Jetfire from Transformers Armada. It was strange because I was sent to attack a Transformer that was just like me...there were a team of human hackers who had to break through the other bot's defenses for me to take him down. The whole look/transformation stuff was like G1 mixed with Bayformers. I really don't know what to make of all this...but the other bot and the army he was with was really evil.

My dreams of late have been short and unremarkable. I can recall only a few details and some recurring themes, such as living in my childhood home in another country or getting up late for work.

One particular dream I had the other night was about someone (a male friend, co-worker, or celebrity) who had two dangling earrings. It's not unusual for guys to have an earring on either ear, but this person looked weird. He was bald and had two "lady earrings," like some drag queen without a wig.

My dream last night has me puzzled. I was dreaming I was in the TV series The Vampire Diaries and I was kidnapped by Klaus and his brother Elijah...they also had taken Stefan & Damon Salvatore...the strange thing was that they had Stefan, Damon And myself go after a girl they were going to use in a ritual...but that girl wan't Elena...it was Kristen Stewart! Bella from Twilight! WTF!? The Salvitore brother got her and then we came back to where Klaus was...by the way this place was like a condo that was all chic and looked like a celeb lived there...if you know what I mean. Anyway I was locked up in a room with Kristen and Damon And Stefan were locked up in another room...it was strange because I don't like Kristen Stewart at all and hate Twilight...but I found myself in a conversation with her how these vampire are not like the Twilight vampires and she should be very worried...we were both scared and holding each other and at some point she kissed me...then Klaus opened the door to take her for the sacrifice and I said I would do anything to stop it and from her getting killed...so he told me if I became a vampire he would let us both go and find another girl for the sacrifice...I ended up doing it but I had done some magic spell so when Klaus killed me...he would die and I would not and be normal...it was a strange dream

^^^ I knew there was a beautiful woman in there somewhere.

Yesterday I slept in later than I normally did although I went to bed fairly early on Saturday/Sunday (1:00 AM). My alarm went off at 11 AM, and I finally got out of bed around noon to take a shower. The weird thing was that I felt sooo tired and sleepy and didn't want to get up. Part of me also didn't want to go back to sleep because I kept having a series of dreams (work-related, family-related, etc.) that made me feel unsettled in my sleep. It was like the dreams were giving me anxiety.

I had a cinematic dream one night. It was one of those dreams wherein I was watching a movie and being in it at the same time.

There was some catastrophic event happening in the world. Somewhere in the Middle East, a passenger airplane was getting shot at as it was leaving the runway and taking off. How or why, I didn't really know. There wasn't much logic. I was worried that the plane wasn't going to be able to make it and that it would explode.

Then back in the States (this happened somewhere locally), a group of people were bracing for a disaster to occur. Everyone was getting out of the streets and into a multi-story building for safety. There were two characters I seemed to recognize, but I don't remember if they were celebrities or people I knew in real life. They were mostly responsible for getting people to safety.

An airplane was getting ready to land somewhere (I don't know if this was the same plane from the Middle East). There was a massive cloud of dust, almost like volcanic ash, coming toward the city, and everyone had to be inside and close their doors and windows. The disaster passed, the plane landed safely, and people were very happy and relieved afterwards. Everyone thanked the two characters who were the heroes in the story.

I had a dream that I had to look after somebody's house. In the garden I thought it strange that the garden fence had about 20 additional panels attached to it. They were all hinged such that they swung from side to side, and when 'closed', you couldn't see the fence behind as the panels fully covered it. There wasn't room at the end for the last panel though, so it stuck out perpendicular, blocking the garden gate. To open that last panel, the panel before it had to be opened first as it overlapped it, and so on to the other end. So I had to start opening the panels at one end in order to open the gate at the other end. However, when that first panel was open, it blocked the entry to the house, and when the second panel was opened, it overlapped the first panel (and so on), meaning that the gate and door could not be unblocked simultaneously.

Once I got out of the garden, there were some trees and a park. There were lots of people sitting on the grass having picnics as it was warm and sunny. Alongside the park was a cave, and inside it was darker and cooler. There were quite a few of people sitting in the cave in the many small alcoves. In each alcove, the people wore the same t-shirts. I was invited to sit in one of the alcoves, and then expected to wear the correct tshirt for that alcove. I thought it was stupid that a cave should have a dress code, and I told them as much.

Heh...I'd love to see someone take a crack at this one!

In it, Hugh Laurie came over as the character of House. He pounded on my front door with his cane until I answered. When I answered I had a baby in my arms -- in the dream, my baby. He looked around and said, "I forgot this is what your house looked like." I said, "It's not just my house,"and he followed as I carried the baby into another room.
In the next room there were two cribs. I gently tucked the baby into one of them, a small, normal-looking crib. The other crib was huge -- the size of a queen sized bed -- and in it were not one, not two, not three, but four good-looking men. They included Ryan Phillippe, Justin Timberlake, an unknown but smoking Asian dude (looked something like a mix between a young Ken Watanabe and John Cho), and Carey Elwes, exactly as he looked in The Princess Bride, Including the mask -- but not wearing anything else! They were all, in fact, in various stages of undress and it was clear that some fun had been going on.
When House came in he leered at the scene and unbuttoned his shirt menacingly. The guys in the crib panicked and froze like frightened puppies and I knew that with House there to scare them, I could make them do whatever I wanted. So what did I do? I insulted their socks. No matter what state of nakedness they'd achieved, they were all still wearing socks. Jen Chotanabe's were flowered, and I asked him if there wasn't something more manly he could find -- didn't they have anything with dinosaurs on them in his size? I asked. Justin's were red and lime green stripes and I said he wasn't a kid anymore. Cary's were equally ugly and Ryan's were mismatched.
I told House to get some socks from my drawer and he brought back four pairs in grey, white, pink, and pink on white. We then put the socks on the men and I woke up.

tsq, interesting dream. Oh, my! Although I don't have any interpretations to offer, I wish I had dreams like yours. ;)

I had three short dreams last night involving family members.

In the first one, my little five-year-old nephew Will was crying at my old aunt's house next door in another country. :wtf: I was worried somebody was making him cry. There I saw my brother-in-law, "Allen," who's not really Will's dad IRL, but in the dream he was and was telling Will it was time to go home, to which Will objected. Will suddenly became a mean little sonuvabitch like Stewie Griffin and started cussing. :guffaw:

The second dream was about my mom trying to drive a hybrid car that could've been a Toyota Prius (though she doesn't really drive IRL). When she started the car and pushed the power button, it didn't start. When she tried again, electrical sparks started flying off the hood and the car went berserk and got damaged. So I felt sorry for my mom, and I went with a couple of people to look for parts to repair the car.

In the third dream, I was living in a different house with my family. We were here in the U.S., but the house looked a lot like our old house in another country, which I still dream about from time to time. My older brother said he was thinking about moving to an apartment complex just behind some gas station. Why he wanted to move out, I didn't understand, but he wanted me to join him. Actually, I would much rather stay at our family's house in my "new room," which was three to five stories up with an excellent view. The room was big and spacious with huge glass windows overlooking the streets below. The last thing I remembered was seeing Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) being attacked by Harry Potter (Dan Radcliffe). Snape was trapped in a giant wine glass, and Harry was casting hexes and spells on him.

I had a strange dream about Transformers again...but I wasn't one this time...I was running from them!

I dreamed I had a penis. I have dreamed that I was a man before, but never in a sexual capacity. My maleness in previous dreams has always been rather incidental to the persona I was embodying, or just a fluke, and as far as I can recall, I never had reason to unzip my trousers in any of those Dreamed I Was A Man dreams, so I can't even say whether or not my masculinity extended below the belt. Last night it sure did! What an odd experience! I don't know if this is how men actually experience sexual desire or if it's just how pop-culture has informed my subconscious, but it was like all my sexuality was compressed into that one little organ (well, not that little) in my pants. Instead of my whole body and mind aching with desire it was all compacted into my penis and just fighting to get out!
In the dream my wife picked me up from the airport and her welcome home embrace had me hard before we'd got the luggage in the car. There wasn't really enough room in my pants for an erection, so my penis did a thing that I expect would be impossible, or at least incredibly painful for an actual man, where it folded double until I finally had the opportunity to unzip and it sprang into place. And I feel the strange need to assure you all that a it was a sizable spring into sizable space, too.

I tweeted about it, having just joined twitter, but my only followers are my little sister and some uber networking dude I don't know, so I figured I'd share it here too.

Pretty much. Personally, I think penis in a dream could symbolize masculinity as well as eroticism that may or may not be the case in your waking life. It could mean that you're in touch with your masculine side. I don't think I've ever dreamed about having a vagina before, though that would be quite interesting to say the least.

My dream last night involved a couple of relatives and going to Sacramento, CA, though I haven't been there in years. The dream was rather unpleasant in that I got mad at my brother, which hasn't happened in a long, long time in real life. My older brother was driving my car on the way to Sacramento, and he stopped by to visit a couple of his "loser friends" (back when he used to hang out with the wrong crowd). I didn't like that he was talking to them again and that we were getting late to get to our destination.

I seem to recall that we were supposed to meet with or pick up our mom, who was at a fancy art gallery, and so I left my brother, along with the car, at his friends' place and tried to go the destination by myself. I remember asking a young woman the way to the downtown area, and it appeared that I didn't have to travel too far because it was straight up ahead. At some point, Mom and I had stopped by some fancy restaurant to have lunch. The place looked familiar to me, and I thought their food wasn't very good and thus suggested another venue to my mom, but we ended up staying there to eat.

Then came my brother, who was acting like an asshole and asked what was up with me when he was the one who decided to hang out with his old friends. He was saying some bad things and accusing me of wrongdoings.

Strangely, IRL I get along really well with my brother.

I keep having dreams about bears and kittens??? What does that mean??? Not like every night but every once in a while...plus dreams about being in school.
