Supernatural renewed for season 7

I gave up on Supernatural at the start of the sixth season. It really felt like they'd told the story. Scouring of the Shire all over again.

you must still have a thing for supernatural... Otherwise You'd have given up on all the supernatural threads like i have that stupid smallville winter thread that won't go away.

I still respect the show and the fans here that still watch it, and was just interested to see initial reactions to the renewal.

That said, I threw my 2c into the mix as well :)

that was all i was curious about, it wasn't meant as a dig or anything hateful..... as for that thread.... I've not visited it in several months....

^^ I guess I didn't notice that. I probably would have commented if I did.

I know season six just ended but missed it due to work. when do you think season six will be ready on BR? I hope the put supernatural and vampire diaries back to back.

Season six hasn't ended yet. The two hour Supernatural season finale will be airing this Friday night.

thanks for that but I'll still wait for the dvd since I missed the entire run this season.:scream::scream::scream:

This is one of those shows I keep forgetting even exists. That's not a slam on the show. It's just something I've never gotten around to watching. It seems like I should at least give it a shot.

I just hope S7 is the end of the series and that it is used to wrap up the story of the brothers. I would hate for it to be another One Tree Hill or Smallville.

Supernatural still has the God card to play; despite some theories that "The Writer" was God (personally, I don't think so, and more think he was a prophet who ascended when his work was done).

It's a good hook, really. The ground has been laid for the characters to question the cosmology of the Supernatural universe and the point of the whole war between good, evil, humans, monsters, etc.

Basically, I wouldn't be surprised if we see an Incarnations of Immortality-type ending where the cosmos is reset, maybe even literally a new God (or no God!) takes over, and we end the story with a hopeful note that the world will actually progress to a better state.

Right now, Supernatural's universe is a very grim one without much hope in sight - it is doomed to be the battleground between immortal forces that just want to use humanity as war materials to control the higher dimensions.

However, once the God plot is resolved, that SHOULD be it. The end. There's nothing they can do to top it, or to make the quest of supernatural adventurers relevant any further.

That you should. I too was like you when it first came out. A "hunky" guy show on the old WB did not sound the at least bit interesting. Then catching little snippets through the years and then the rerun package on TNT, got me hooked.

Kaijima, that would be an awesome way to end the series but I wonder if the people in charge of the show would be willing to take it that far without giving into fear of what certain viewers would react to a plot like that.
