she had stopped doing commentaries so the just released Planet Of The Spiders may be the last one.

The CBBC's 15-minute tribute to Lis Sladen, with reminiscences from Davies, Tennant, Smith, Katy Manning, and the Sarah Jane cast.

On an unrelated note, what the heck is going on with Matt Smith's hair? That has to drive Who's continuity person insane.

    Yes it was.

I watched it on CBBC earlier and given she died, what on Tuesday, having that all done for this evening was, although not massively impressive (I knew they could do it) it was nice neither-less and proved a poster here wrong which was brilliant.

It was very touching though and that was the main thing.

I was choked up at the end. It was, indeed, touching.

I really cried at the end. I think that's only the second time I've done this for someone I didn't know.

It was the musical montage that finally did me in. It's a pity they didn't get Tom Baker to say something, though. After all, even Jon Pertwee was present in a way (because Katy Manning said how anecdotes about working with him were hos she and Lis bonded).
But they did get a lot of big names on such short notice.

Call me a cold bastard or something similar, but I wasn't that moved by it, but then again, I didn't cry last year when my step father died, and only cried a few times since my grandfather died!

    ^Grief's a weird thing though.

I thought the CBBC thing was quite good considering it was probably knocked together quite quickly.

Shame about Luke's wicked baseball cap mind you.

The music for the montage was a little much, but the actual collection of images were really nice.

    OK, you're a cold bastard....or something similar ;)

Not a huge deal though. Some people just don't get as emotional as others. But you might consider some therapy, just as a precaution.

 I thought something similar. I liked David Tennant's t-shirt, though.

I don't see why someone needs therapy because they don't cry. I can sympathise with Dimesdan, the day after my dad died I bawled my eyes out, but since that day I've cried precisly once, grief is an odd thing, and it manifests itself in many ways. As a freind of mine whose a mental health nurse say, people deal with things differently, and there is no right way. My sister keeps having bad days, but she doesn't dream about him, which I do, so each of us is dealing with the loss in different ways. I wonder how many people in therapy are there because other people have made them think they aren't dealing with something the 'right' way?

Time to quote Kerr Avon I think. "I have never understood why it should be neccesary to become emotional to prove that you care, or why it should be neccesary to prove it at all."

On the other hand, good old Avon really was a cold bastard, so I'm not sure quoting him in this context is a wise move. ;)

    (He's my favourite Blake's 7 character, though.)

Deep down, we all know Avon is a sentimental bastard. ;)

Beautiful tribute. I think it's a testament of Lis Sladen's character that CBBC was able to get so many interviews in such short order.

Great tribute. I teared up a lot, very moving. Good they were able to get so many interviews, as EMH said. Tom's was a big absence, and I strongly suspect he's too upset to say much.

Tom lives in France I think so that may have caused problems given how little time they had.

If they haven't recorded commentaries for Zygons or Android yet they will be very tough for Tom to do I would think.
