The storms killed 30some people across the South over the past few days. I'm just glad they are over. Lil' Possum did great. No, not many people around here have basements, we just pile into our bathtubs and hope for the best.

Possum I am so sorry to hear about the deaths. I did not read that in our papers, and I have now gone and looked at CNN about it. That is just awful. Sorry if I was in any way silly or flippant in this bit of the thread, I honestly hadn't heard anything about it.
Tornados are absolutely horrible. I hope they are a rare thing where you are. Glad to hear the little possum was not too freaked out.

I remember reading that the biggest recorded tornado, early 20th century I think, was 2 miles wide. Do you get them very often in your area?

@ Teacake - We get tornadoes in our general area several times a year. But I've only actually been "in" eight of them. If I ever see one two miles wide, I'll just go ahead and have a heart attack and save myself a lot of trouble.
