Survivor: Redemption Island Discussion (Spoilers)

Ohh, my bad. I missed when the idols were introduced into the game, so I'm not 100% familiar with how they work. Is there only supposed to be one in play per tribe at a time?

Yep!

But Rob had to pretend that the clue was a big deal or Grant would have realized that he had already found the idol . . . .

Yep. Also, using the first clue (hint: it's on planet Earth) gives Rob an excuse not to spend too much time wandering around with his tribe-mate looking for the idol he already has in his possession.

Okay, cool, thanks. Still a slick move by Rob. Especially if Grant actually developed some independent thought and tried to find the idol without Rob (not knowing it had already been discovered).

Christa is right though, none of them are playing the game. They just keep roling along with no real strategy other than listen to Steve and Ralph. They just sit around singing coobyah. Stephanie needs to redeem herself somehow, I think she could be a good player.

That one guy at Tribal was right, though. For all their talk of the tribe's lack of strategy, ever since Russell was booted out Stephanie and Krista have done nothing but whine and pout and hate their team. They could have befriended people, tried to start new alliances, etc. Instead they just chose to isolate themselves and act like spoiled brats who lost their sugar daddy.

Matt is on a roll, I kinda hope he comes back just so he can build an allience so he can wipe that smirk off of Rob's lying face. I wanna see Matt get Rob voted out and get some payback.

Matt's a great player. I'm really hoping he'll be able to stick it out long enough to rejoin the game. It would be much better with someone like him who's earned a second chance rather than someone who got lucky in one challenge and got to return immediately after that.

Another excellent episode but i was little disappointed that we didn't see when Kristina joined Matt on Redemption Island. I was sad to see her go last time as she was the only one that challenged Rob control. Also the challenge ws very phyical as Kristina couldn't keep up with Matt. Defiantly a challence suited for Man.I like Rob as he is good TV but he is defiantly playing for himself. This could end up biting him in the ass when people in his alliance finally wake and see that Rob is really playing them. Rob played Grant for a fool when he switched the clues.

Krista shouldn't be commented who is playing the game and who is not. She was out of the loop early so she really doesn't know the inner dynamics within the majority alliance. They are of course playing the game but Krista dosent see that as she isent part of their alliance.

Matt hasn't proved that he is a great player jet. He was blindsided and voted out. I dont call that a recipe for a great player. However he can redeemed himself by winning the remaining duels and hopefully reenter the game. I hope he beats Krista and send her packing in next episode.

Are you still upset that Russell is gone:rolleyes:

No I'm not, I've said before (in this thread in fact) that it was
a) the correct move from his tribe, even throwing the challenge was legitimate to get it done and
b) I was pissed off at Russell that he refused to adapt his gameplay to the changing circumstances (specifically other people knowing who he is) in any substantial way and I was tired of him.

I'm hoping Matt keeps winning and makes it back into the game, too. It's very easy to root for him at this point, and it'd be great TV if he came back from being the second person voted out to winning the whole damn thing (or at least getting close). The problem is, if he does get back in, he's probably going to be targeted immediately because he outlasted everyone else on Redemption Island.

I kind of feel the same way. It almost seems like they're turning Redemption Island into Exile Island by having it be an afterthought. I would love one segment each episode dealing with life in Exile, getting ready to challenge. We know what atmosphere is like at camp, but what about on Redemption Island. What is that life like, especially for Matt who's been there for close to a week (Survivor time) now. It seems like the real life survivor is happening on RI and I would kind of like to see it, if only for a bit.

I agree, it'd be nice to see a little bit of the goings-on at RI. Especially since the Zapatera group is boring as hell.

Think Zapatera was right to get rid of Stephanie, as she would have flipped to the other tribe the second there was a merger.

I actually agree with Sarita. At this stage of the game I know a merge has to be coming sooner than later, so I'd rather keep around someone who wouldn't be a threat in the individual immunity challenges. The time for strong tribes is over, as evidenced by next week's preview.

Man, wouldn't it suck if Matt lasted all this time on Redemption Island only to lose the very last challenge before rejoining the game?

I didn't really like that duel, to be perfectly honest. It was too easy.

Loved when Rob threw the idol clue into the volcano, though. How does nobody else ever bother to look for these clues, or wonder why they never see any?
