ETA: Ah, I remember back in the day when my friends and I thought it was funny to crank up each other's lighters like that when the owner wasn't looking. LOLlolLOL. It doesn't seem all that funny in retrospect, though.

Yeah, why IS that flame so high, lol? I never smoked, but we used to do the same thing with our lighters so we could have more flame to make fireballs.
Perhaps. I still have a scar on my hand, though, from using one to light a firecracker - a spark kicked back in it and it turned into a flamethrower. Luckily, other sparks had already been shooting around and scared me so I was actually in the act of dropping the lighter at the time.

I am so deathly afraid of fire I could never ever touch a lighter. I still can't. And stupid hubby o' mine like to get the barbeque lighter and hold it close to me. It drives me insane.

Or she used to, she did quit smoking back in '98 for Scientific Method so her irritability would seem genuine as Janeway. Idk if she fell off the wagon though. It's different when you're smoking for roles.

Despite smoking all her life Janeway always had beautiful skin..
It is true that it was for "Scientific Method". Admiral Hawthorne told me so. And the Admiral knows everything there is to know about KM.
Anyway, it made me love her performance in that ep even more, which I didn't think was possible.
And. Her lovely white teeth are what astonish me.
