I wonder how saying I prefer women with more curves is disrespectful? Is it disrespectful to to say I prefer brunettes to blondes as well?
This may or may not have been intended as a humorous thread. What it turned into very quickly is a stupid, trolling thread providing a topic for the usual vapid complaining about some aspect of the movie by the usual folks, focusing insultingly on a cast member in just about exactly the same manner as the last thread about Saldana.
If I dropped around to the TOS forum and started a topic poll titled "Should Nichelle Nichols stop lying about meeting Martin Luther King?" I can't imagine that it would be well received, and it would be based on fact.

Why the double standard? The guys who played Spock and Kirk were stick thin as well. But I've never heard anybody say they should gain weight.
As for Zoe, some people are naturally thin, you know. It's not a hard concept to understand. She's been the same weight since she first emerged on the scene as an actress.

Yes, she should wear a fatsuit because she is eating everything in sight because she is pregnant with a quarter-Vulcan bouncing baby or maybe triplets. That should make the haters' heads explode! 
Nah, it's natural for heterosexual males to be attracted to women whose body fat indicates fertility. Millions of years of evolution and all that. Zoe Saldana is not too skinny, but much skinnier than she is, and menstration naturally ceases. Happens to female athletes, for instance.
Neytiri was fascinating because Saldana did such a great job of creating alien body-language. But Uhura was not at all "ugly inside." Because she gave a verbal smack-down on a drunk idiot in a bar who deserved it? That was perfectly right and fair. Cupcake beating the shit out of Kirk was not right and fair. That boy has issues.

I wouldn't jump to have sex with her. Sorry, women with bodies that resemble sixteen year old boys just don't do it for me. YMMV.

Just because you (or someone you know) have no control over their glands doesn't mean everyone has that same issue.
Ms. Saldana does nothing for me, it's not a crime and it's not a slight towards her.
Everyone's an expert on evolution, heredity and what's "hard-wired" into people when it suits what they want to believe. It's "natural" for people to be attracted to whatever and whomever they happen to be attracted to, and any honest researcher will tell you that this encompasses an extraordinary range of human beings, other creatures and inanimate objects.
You're right, discussing Trek XII is SERIOUS BUSINESS.
I would but only to say I have. It'd make a great story.
