Something to say about "The Beast Below"...., I didn't care for it the first time I watched it. Truth be told I'm not sure why. But I enjoyed it more and more with each successive repeat viewing. Maybe it was Amy's drawing a parallel between the Star whale and The Doctor

I had the opposite effect. I really liked "Beast Below" the first time, but when I watched it again it was just incredibly boring. I think I was still in the honeymoon phase of the new Doctor / show direction at that point.

I loved the way "The Beast Below" used the Star Whale as a metaphor for the exploited underclasses that have historically been oppressed out of "necessity" throughout history.

A horse and a man:
Above, below
One has a plan,
But both must go
Mile after mile,
Above, beneath.
One has a smile
And one has teeth.
Though the man above
Might say hello,
Expect no love
From the beast below.

One thing I've noticed about Steven Moffat, he does know how to handle time travel. I mean, like, enough to be able to screw around with it as cavalierly as he has this past season. Especially in Big Bang and Christmas Carol.

See, I'm not sure he understands time travel as well as he or other people think he does...

I like the first fifteen minutes best. And I like the scene where Amy makes the choice because she's figured out the parallel. But the next scene just hammers the point home so hard it's obnoxious.

I'm getting tired of the time travel antics. They completely undermined the drama in "The Big Bang"-- the Doctor is always doing things because he's going to do them, not because he's clever-- and "A Christmas Carol" raises a disastrous amount of questions. Such as, why not go back in time and change the ship's course?

See, I can understand your frustration. At the same time, however, the show IS about a time traveller. And this incarnation of him seems a bit... antic-prone.
