Skeet Ulrich leaves Law and Order: La, replaced by...

Jack Bauer

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Alfred Molina...becomes the new detective partnered with Corey Stoll. Molina's character was a cop prior to being a prosecutor (I don't remember this being mentioned on the show before...sounds like a retcon to me) Terrence Howard becomes the only DDA. The two female ADAs will be replaced by a single female ADA.

Skeet Ulrich's last appearence will be in episode 14. eight have aired so far.

Geez even the actors are saying I Told You So? Hmph. You'd think a franchise that's been around 20 years would know how to not drive itself into the ground. Oops.

I suppose only in the Law & Order universe would a detective become a lawyer and then revert back to a detective years later.

But, hey, on the plus side they got rid of Skeet Ulrich.

The great news: No Skeet Ulrich

The good news: More Alfred Molina

The bad news: More Terrence Howard

They couldn't have left well enough alone and had one more history making season of the flagship could they? Noooo. They could have tried out these new LA transferred guys in NYC and then whoever was the favorite could have been moved back into a LOLA show. But no, they had to ditch the original and go with this crap. I'm not surprised at all. I think I gave this 3 years tops.

Half a season retrospective on TNT collapsing the original, CI, and new LA possibilities would have done far better. What are the ratings like?

I have to agree with this.

I just really don't like the idea of Molina's character suddenly becoming a detective. it seems... weird.

But, I'm glad they are keeping Corey What's His Name... I like him...

It might've been better to kill Ulrich's character and have his wife (Teri Polo) return to the force as the show's lead.

It's funny that the person they get to crossover on SVU to set up Los Angeles is gone before the end of the first season. They didn't exactly plan ahead with a David Caruso or Gary Sinise.

I was referring to how CSI set up their spinoffs with prominent leads. From the sounds of things, the showrunners are dropping Ulrich, not the other way around.
