Your favourite animal

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude

By "favourite animal" I don't mean don't mean "favourite species" but instead I mean an individual animal excluding your pets (or the pets of family members or friends)

It can be an animal from a movie, TV or a book, a racehorse, a heroic animal etc.

I adore Sirocco Kakapo. I just love his performance in Last Chance to See and since then I have been following his antics on Facebook.

I always liked Fury, the stallion. I used to watch that tv series as a child. He was majestic and heroic and always saved the day.

Furia a cavallo del west
che va piu' forte di un jet
quando fa il pieno di fieno
se no non sta in pie'.

Furia a cavallo del west
che beve solo caffè
per mantenere il suo pelo
il piu' nero che c'è.

;)

I met a great little penguin named Wendell once. He looks like this.

Uhm...well, I'm pretty sure he's one of those...

By the name of the topic, I thought this thread might be about sharing recipes. You know, "Your favourite animal," then you open the thread, and it says, "To grill."

I always loved Lassie. Collies are among the most beautiful dogs.

I don't remember ever seeing Fury as a child (or as an adult)

I liked Lassie but not as much as I liked The Littlest Hobo.

As far as other the TV/movie animals I remember from my childhood go

Flicker (Horse) - OK
Skippy (Kangaroo) - Skippy was OK but the adults on the show annoyed me.
Flipper (Dolphin) - OK
Mr Ed (Horse) - I liked him
Francis the Talking Mule - Loved him
Gentle Ben (bear) - hated him
Greyfrairs Bobby - the most wonderful dog ever
Clarence the Cross Eyed Lion (from Daktari) - fantastic
Judy the Chimp (Daktari) - didn't like her as much as I liked Clarence
Maya the Elephant - liked her but liked the two boys who rode around India on her better

That is all I can think of at the moment

Would Lancelot Link: secret chimp count?

Sorry I didn't really watch alot of the " animal " shows as a kid

I really liked that chicken I encountered last week, especially after it was marinated, grilled and ended up on my plate..:devil:

In life he had more dignity and grace than the entire England football team 8 times over. RIP Paul. :(

As for fictional animals... it would have to be Belle. :adore:

Honourable mention: Lady Gaga, the world's most famous German otter. ;) :p

I'm another Lassie fan, and adored The Littlest Hobo, too.

I've never watched Skippy, and I'll never be able to, thanks to the British show Goodness Gracious Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUVPr3dB9O8&NR=1

I'm going back to Youtube to watch some more GGM clips. :bolian:

That was great.

In Australia we had the Fast Forward segments about Skippy, which totally changed the way I thought of Skippy.
