Two Spocks on the Jellyfish goof

F. King Daniel

It's in the mind-meld scene. When we see the Jellyfish landed inside the Narada (after "Nero... was waiting for me") and just before we see Spock Prime walk down the ramp, you can see Zachary Quinto's Spock sat in the Jellyfish's cockpit!:wtf:

I think they've recycled (pre-cycled?) bits from the scene from later on when Kirk runs down the ramp and the Quinto-Spock piloted Jellyfish takes off. I know they reused a few little clips from the deleted scenes elsewhere ("Seven Federation ships are on their way!" is a redubbing of a cut scene after the Kelvin ramming, for example), but I thought both Spocks on the Jellyfish at once was a neat find.

The camera angles aren't the same between the two scenes, but you're right -- looks like they forgot to remove the Young Spock mesh from the landed Jellyfish CGI model.

Well, I'll be. Yep. Here it is at 1:18:58, during the mind meld scene:

Ah, well. Can't win 'em all. :D

I don't think there is a Spock in there

It's just shadows, reflections and those orange glowing panels you can see on the other side too

Gotta agree that the TrekCore 'cap doesn't show anybody up there. If the "Quinto mesh" (or greenscreen insert?) were in place in the left-facing ship, the face of Spock ought to be visible, yet we only get that orange ceiling panel.

Can't speak for the whole scene; it needs a bit of rewatching any case, for various other arguments.

Of course, even if there is somebody there, it could be one of Nero's men, securing the captured ship, while two others stand inside the ship, outside our view, and point their guns at Spock's back, forcing him out of his ship... That's what I'd do if I were an upstart supervillain in ample possession of henchmen.

I stand corrected!

On DVD, that orange panel and chair look a lot like a guy sat down with a bowl cut:lol:.
