The Christmas Countdown Thread!

^I just have one crabby old Auntie to send a card to. She can't understand why no one sends her cards or calls her anymore, but she's probably the world's most unpleasant human being EVER. Still, I feel sorry for her, so she gets a card once a year around Christmas time.

Where (roughly) are you? Down here we've not had any snow yet.

I'm in the south east. It's been snowing all day long - my guestimate from the nice warm indoors is that there's almost a foot of it now.

Just wrapped a bunch of presents and picked up some phone covers that my nephew thinks are "totally cool."

*phew*

Off to make dinner now.

A nice little fibre-optic lit tree sits on the tower of my nice new computer, USB lights are strung across the top of the monitor (well, they were yesterday) and the world is covered in a sheet of snow. I feel Christmasy:).

Gonna get the proper decorations out within the next few days.

A nice cool and clear day here. Still have three more presents to get and need to get the tree up. Maybe I'll see if I can get hubby to pull the tree out of the garage for me.

Seems that I suddenly have tomorrow off (rats!) so I can do the tree tomorrow and get the house straightened up.

Put up my new blinking led light Santa as snowman x-mas decoration-horror and tweaked an AV to work under the harsh reality of only 140x140 pixel - but I'm not sure you'll ever actually see it as it is from a time where I really couldn't get into the spirit of the season.

Earlier today I ordered TAS from Amazon for just under £16, which made me a happy girl. It's the only ST series we don't have on DVD and I've never seen a single episode of it, but I'll do my best to be good and not test-drive it before I wrap it up for my husband. Mind you, my husband is notorious for playing DVDs and CDs before wrapping them!

No snow here yet. My kids are becoming impatient, because most of the rest of the country has at least had flurries. We've had temperatures at or just below freezing and lovely sunshine, which is my favourite kind of weather.

Put up the tree and decorated it today, and put up the lights out front. Also hung the stocking and put up a few small decorations. Then I hung our uber-geeky wreath on the door.

Then I got the mail, put the boxes away, put away the laundry and straightened up a little.

FUCK, I'm tired.

Hubby's getting frozen pizza tonight. There's no way I'm going to cook.

Put up our little lighted tree and wrapped some presents. Also put up the rest of the decorations around the apartment. I just realized that more than half of the ornaments on our tree are Star Wars or Trek related.

Wow, all you people with your decorating already seem to be eager beavers to me. My tree goes up about three days before Christmas!

Can't sleep, so the tree is up and about 3/4 decorated. Gifts are bought or ordered except for a couple which will be taken care of next week. Still need to fix some exterior lights and finish the tree.

We had snow yesterday which, typically, partially melted and froze again, turning the pavements/sidewalks into ice rinks. I'm lucky that I live on a big residential road so my road is gritted and there's enough traffic to melt the snow and make the road pretty safe to drive on. However I had an easy day at work yesterday because some staff members who live out in the sticks were stranded by the snow so the sessions I work in were cancelled. Those of us who made it to work tidied the community rooms and had a great kvetching session while drinking copious amounts of coffee and tea. :bolian:

We'll probably buy our tree next Friday and decorate it over the weekend. At first I though me and my daughter would decorate the house this weekend but she's staying at a friend's house on Saturday night. How come my kids have a social life, but I don't? ;)
