When does Clark's super-intellect kick in? Because if his surprise that Lois knew his secret after that speech she gave about The Blur a minute before is any indication, he's still retarded.

I haven't seen someone that oblivious since Palpatine told Anakin a Sith bedtime story, convinced him to distrust the Jedi, and then paraded him past his giant sandworm and Sith frieze of evil before Anakin finally got a clue and said "you're the Sith lord!"

Clark doesn't have super-intellect, in fact he's been portrayed throughout the series as not being very smart at all.

I was kidding. Though I'm not sure how saying he hasn't displayed super-intellect previously really contradicts me saying he doesn't have super-intellect yet. :p

I was jokingly referencing the fact that one of Superman's powers in the comics was super-intellect.

I know you were kidding, the sad thing is that I wasn't. Is everyone in this show stupid? I'm almost half way through it right now and I'm sorry, I'd like to have one filler episode where I could watch and say oh that was decent but this is really badly written so far. You'd think that Clark would pick up quicker on the roof top that Lois was possessed. 1+1 equals 2 and all that? First Lois is talking in a completely different tone and manner than she normally does, secondly she doesn't respond to him revealing who he is as Lois would.

You ever watch back to the Future and Marty makes you cringe because he can't understand Emmett? And then you remember that it's the same guy typing the text for both characters? Clark is only dumb enough to make us feel smart. It's a simple trick used by writers to jerk us off.

In one of the first episodes he did supermath in his head to help out the farm accounts.

Numbers seems to be the only thing he can call his bitch.

But that's just the default setting.

It's not like he applied himself that anyone else with a Kryptonian brain would be amazed by his accomplishments.

Gods, when he used to explain Lexs' evil plans to Lex like a baby bringing you a hand full of pooh as a present, I used to facepalm the fuck out of myself. Exposition may have been needed for the five year olds viewing the show but really all that should have happened was Clark punching the beautiful bald boy and then verbally qualifying the act with something like "Don't look surprised! You know exactly what you did!"

Re the big reveal:

Remember when Lois described this moment in the future?

"Perfect."

Wow.

Clark shits ice-cream.

Hahaha...this is where their inconsistency hurts them the most and we catch them. I had hesitations about this episode beforehand and boy I can see that they were justified. I did like the bit where Cat first forces herself into Lois and Clark's conversations the guys following her...just like the comics right now and "Lois and Clark". I like Tracy Scoggins Cat way better than Keri's version...she's far too bubbly and annoying for me. I know that surface stuff hides a very intelligent person (allegedly, this is Smallville after all, hell I'm sure that if Bruce ever did find his way onto the show he'd be a moron too) but it's still annoying and I know it's meant to be that way. Tess's laugh was epic. I like her line to Ollie that he'd become a caricature of himself...in a way that line describes the entire series now. Aside from their "event/myth" episodes they've still not progressed very much from the early seasons. They've stuck so rigidly to their own formula that they can't seem to get out of it no matter what they do and this is the reason why most of their planned stuff turns out horrible or isn't executed properly. I'm sorry I bitch so much about this series, it's probably the most critical I've ever been about something but that's only because i'm so passionate and I see the unrealized potential that they've squandered over the years.

I hope people saw the label "Dagger of Teth-Adam" when Isis picked up the dagger! Black Adam!!!! Is anyone having an icky feeling with the Tess and Lex stuff? I have a feeling that it will be revealed that Lex and Tess were lovers or that Comicbookmovie story that Jetfire posted in the hiatus thread a few weeks ago is going to be true and she's another secret Luthor sibling. I'm surprised for a reporter that Cat wouldn't start researching the Goddess Isis during her investigation of Lois as the Blur inside of a museum FILLED, FILLED now with Egyptian artifacts, but I suppose that when you're obsessed with attempting to prove something you're willing to not conduct research...or it's just bad writing. Yeah didn't like this episode if that wasn't obvious.

The whole Isis plot was dumb. I didn't think Cat would research Isis...she was out to expose The Blur. I still think Cat has provided me with the funniest scene in Smallville yet and she has proved important...what she told to help Clark in Shield to step out of the shadows & Tess in this ep with the motherly advice. I am not sure Black Adam will have anything to do with this season...think it was just a nod...it is does...wow...I am not sure how they are gonna finish the season so jammed with crap.

I think I might have not been clear on my point with Cat. I meant that because she's so obsessed with her investigation trying to prove that Lois is the Blur that she didn't stop to consider the fact that while inside a museum warehouse filled with Egyptian artifacts that something may not be right? I was trying to see that she was blinded by trying to prove her story that she didn't bother researching any of the facts like a true reporter would have done.

Also does it make any sense whatsoever for Lois to have taken the neckless from Carter's tent in the first place? What purpose or interest would Lois have in it? She's never been shown to care much about material possessions before. It was just to serve the plot....also I noticed that the museum curator was named Adrianna, wasn't Isis from "52" named Adrianna Topaz?

Yeah...I think it opens Adrianna to become Isis in Offsceneville.
Lois taking/having the necklace is lazy writing...there could have been many ways to make Lois come in contact with it & get possessed.
I have a bad feeling about "Harvest"

[edit]

It is funny people complain about Cat...she is where Lois was a few seasons back...being against vigilantes, a conservative point of view & jumping to the wrong conclusions...etc. And Lois has had very little development over the past 2 seasons...they keep putting her at the center of one ridiculous plot after another.

Yeah I'll agree about that...it's like they felt that they needed to have a character that was anti-hero or something. All of this being said I must say that I'm looking forward to "Abandonment". Lois's first trip to the Fortress and she meets the Julian Sands Jor-El and Helen Mirren is back as Lara. Not to mention Justin's wife Lindsay makes her Smallville debut!!!

I can't believe we missed this...

Ep 10-?? UPDATED 10/8/10: This episode will feature Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.
Geoff Johns revealed at the New York Comic Con that Clark will notice the Legion ring on Booster Gold's finger, and asks if Booster is a Legionnaire. "No, but they're really good friends of mine," Booster tells him.

I am guessing it is ep 12 or 13...don't think it will be 14.

Of course they put a Legion ring on Booster's finger *rolls eyes* because no future character can come without being a member of the Legion I guess haha. I can't remember who I had a conversation about that with now....guess I was wrong. Craig was saying on his facebook page that he didn't think Geoff Johns had written the episode yet...since he had tried asking him about it and Geoff mentioned it wasn't written. I guess it is or at least the plot is known.

I am hoping we don't get alot of filler the rest of the season. :sigh:

[edit]

Did anyone notice a "Scarecrow" in the "Harvest" trailer? Deadshot...Deathstroke & a "Scarecrow"

Oh I think there will still be half a dozen episodes worth of filler...probably not dressed up filler like this episode was. It was so bad that I had no choice but to rip it to shreds...Rao it must seem to people who don't know me that I hate this show lol.

The show could be better...I know Kelly Souders is directing "Luthor" from what I read somewhere...really hope not.

I only saw about the last ten minutes, but I was glad that Clark finally admitted that he's the Blur.

well... now that lois officially knows.... does clark now have his happy thought.... can supie now fly?

Gosh I hope so, cause now there is NO RAISIN for him not to fly

Also, BTW, what happened to that fancy leather jacket he put on a couple eps back? He hasn't worn it since! I thought he was going to be wearing it now when doing Blur things, he should have had it on during the Isis stuff.
