Commodore 64. Yes, it was technically a PC, but we used it almost exclusively for games.

Sega Master System
. We used to swap this frequently with a friend of mine that had a NES, so we had the SMS 3/4 of the time and the NES the remaining 1/4.

Then I switched to PC gaming for many years before returning to consoles with the...

Playstation 2
My brother bought an original Xbox that I played on rare occasions.
PSP
Xbox 360
Wii. Although, this is technically a family system and I rarely play it.

When I was a kid I had a Gameboy, SNES, Sega Genesis and N64.

Then I became an elitist PC-only gamer for a while.

Then I got a 360, DS and Wii.

Not many - growing up my mother tried as hard as she could to discourage gaming, so I never owned any systems until I moved out. I just had the Commodore 64 and some PC games growing up.

Since then....well, still not much. I have a PS2, PS3, and a DS Lite. I sort of had an XBox for a year, but it was technically my ex's and he took it when we split. I've debated getting a 360 since then but haven't made the leap yet. There's still enough on PS3 (and older PS2 games I've bought and still not played) to keep me busy.

Currently Have:

Atari 2600
NES
Sega Genesis (two for some reason)
SNES
Playstation
N64
Dreamcast
Playstation 2
Gamecube
Wii
PSP
DS Lite

Used to Own:

Game Boy
Game Boy Advance
Game Gear

Lets see...

ZX Spectrum 48K
- Sold it years ago, but a while back I went and bought another one in impulse at a car boot sale for a couple quid.

Atari ST
- Technically it was my older brother's, but I used it almost as much as he did and sort of inherited it when he moved out. I think he ended up with it again and either still has it (serious computer hardware pack-rat that man, it's not even funny!)

Mega Drive II
- Former display model that we picked up on the cheap. I stupidly bought the 32X add-on and learnt my lesson. Ended up donating it to an after school club.

SNES
- Didn't actually own it, but we *had* one for over a year. Basically one of my brother's mates leant it to him and forgot about it until 12 months later. It only had Mario All Stars and Super Star Wars, but that was plenty!

N64
- Probably the first one that I actually bought since the speccy, ended up donating it to the same after school club that got the Mega Drive. Only had a handful of games for it, those things were way too expensive.

PS1
- Don't remember exactly how or when we ended up with that, though I'm pretty sure it was second hand. I think it died in the end, but I still have a bunch of games that (I think) work on the PS2.

PS2
- (^duh) Bought this used several years back for about £80 and still going strong (though I rarely find the time.) Have accumulated a pretty good if modest selection of games though. Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good and Evil, MGS 2 & 3 to name a few.

Gamecube - Again, bought used (are you sensing a pattern yet?) this time off eBay. Good deal too as I trading in most of the kiddy games that came with it and got enough to buy Half Life 2 for the PC brand new. Bonus! Mostly I bought it for the Zelda games. It came with Windwaker and Ocarina and I got a bunch of others since including the Metroid games and Twin Snakes (the MGS remake.)

I've also acquired a Gameboy Advance and a PSP from eBay, though being long sighted I have trouble playing them for long without getting a headache. No current gen consoles (yet) as I was put off by the cost and the reports of high failure rates, even years after the launch of both PS3 & XBox 360. More or less exclusively a PC gamer these days. There aren't many console exclusive titles that really interest me, at least not enough to buy a damn console to play it on. The only one that came close to tempting me was MGS 4 before it came out...but I hear that turned out to be a bit of a mess.

In order of how I acquired them.

NES
Sega Genesis
Sega CD
Sega Saturn
Nintendo 64
Super NES
Sega Dreamcast
Sega 32X
Sega Master System
Xbox
Xbox 360
PlayStation 3
Gamecube

Hndhelds:
Game Gear
Neo Geo Pocket
Neo Geo Pocket Color
WonderSwan Color
Playstation Portable

My brothers usually had whatever system I was missing. Out of all of them I definitely have the fondest memories of my Saturn and Dreamcast. they were just amazing. If I had to only choose one system fro the rest of my life I'd probably still stick with the Xbox 360. Overall Ive been most disappointed by Sony's newest systeems. I really haven't enjoyed my PSP much, and my PS3 is used almost entirely as a BD player(and I dont buy BDs cuz they are way over priced)

Interestingly Ive had several PCs, but never one decent enough to really game on. Always just enough to play the latest Civilization title.

It's quite a short list (with me having been mainly a PC gamer during the 1990s), but I love every single one of them.

  • PSX (yup, not the gay PSOne, the real deal - the good, old grey box. 1996)
  • PS2
  • Xbox
  • Xbox 360
Coming soon (heh, right):

  • PS3 (as soon as GT5 releases... :sigh:)
Also, as soon as I have my own apartment and a higher monthly income, I'm going to buy some of the consoles I've always wanted as a kid - starting with SEGA's Dreamcast :techman:

Allow me be the first to claim ownership of a Virtual Boy! Totally ahead of its time. :D

My list is:

NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Wii
Xbox
Xbox 360
Gameboy
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance
Gameboy Advance SP
DS Lite
DSi
Gamegear

Plus various PCs, but I do work on them (rarely).

Hey, you are the first person to list the Virtual Boy.

You know, it's funny. The guy who was tasked with leading the team that made that thing wanted more time, but Nintendo insisted it get cranked out ASAP, so it flopped. But had he been allotted the additional time he needed, I think it might have stood a much stronger chance of survival.

  • PS3 (as soon as GT5 releases... :sigh:)

That's what one of my mates is doing too.

For myself,

Oric
Spectrum
Amiga 500+
PC (Modded over the years)
Playstation
Playstation 2
Wii

The PC probably gets the most use nowadays, even for game playing.

Interesting. Looks like I'm going to list something first.

C64
Turbographix 16
Genesis
(2) Dreamcast
N64
PS2
Xbox
(2) Xbox 360
Wii
Nintendo DS
Leapfrog2

I have all in working condition right now. With games for each.
