Question to gay men

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude
Admiral
and I guess to heterosexual men as well. Women can also answer

I am not trying to make fun of the victim of this murder in any way but the article states

But the prince's barrister John Kelsey-Fry QC said in cross-examination: "It is not accepted that this was in fact a gay couple - but I readily accept that you had the impression they were a gay couple."
Mr Dimitrov, who is gay himself, said he believed they were not behaving like two heterosexual men in the way they were hanging their clothes in colour-coded order.
He said of Mr Abdulaziz: "It was impossible not to notice that he was homosexual."
I think the accused is saying that the deceased was only his servant.

Any way what I would like to know does anyone here - gay or straight, man or woman - hang their clothes in colour coded order? Also if you saw a man doing it would it suggest to you that he is gay?

I don't. I tend to hang all my trousers together, all my blouses together, all my skirts together but not in any colour order. If I have a shirt that I always wear with a certain skirt I will hang them together.

That what i would think - just well organised. Especially as one of the two men was a Saudi prince who probably had servants to organised his clothes etc his entire life.

I hang my clothes in color coded order. I'm OCD, though. I have been known, on occasion, to use a level and a tape measure when straightening rugs.

If a saw a man hanging his clothes, period, I'd think he might be gay. If I saw a man hanging his clothes in color-coded order, it would suggest to me that he's obsessive-compulsive.

Straight guys just throw their clothes wherever they happen to land. A coat hanger is for straightening out to use as a drain-unclogging tool, and the closet is where you put all the crap that won't fit anywhere else.

I'm a straight guy and I hang my clothes up. So much for that theory. :p

But no, I don't colour-code my clothes when I hang them up. I just kind of keep pants together and shirts together. Also I separate them seasonally: sweaters and warm clothes are kept together, as are t-shirts and the like.

Well, I often don't sort my clothes at all before I throw them into the washing machine, and once they come out of the dryer - if they come out - I wad them up in a big pile and then dig for my clothes to find what I need as I need it. My clothes are lucky to make it into the closet at all, much less in any kind of color-coded order. If I saw a dude doing that, I wouldn't necessarily think he was gay, but I'd probably think what he was doing was a little queer.

I'm a simple guy, a section for short sleeve shirts, a section for long sleeve shirts, and a section for pants, that's the only order they are in.

Ugh. Replace "Straight guys" with "Men without taste" and I think I could approve of your comment.

So you get your clean clothes out of the drier and then throw them in a pile on the floor until you want to wear them?

I didn't realise "straight" was just another word for disorganised and plain fucking lazy.

And I guess there's a LOT more gay guys in the military than we thought.

I hang up my work clothes so they don't get wrinkled. The clothes I actually wear are either piled up, in the laundry basket, or tossed over the end of the bed.

What is color-coded order, anyway? Is it the rainbow sequence?

You're still adorable.

My question to gay men is this: did you party like it's 1999 when Wentworth Miller came out? Did you care one jot about the mass breakage of female hearts across the globe?

Okay that's two questions.
Luckily for me I was over him, since Prison Break should have ended after the first season. The decision to keep it going put me right off. I'm fickle that way.

Wentworth Miller has never officially come out of the closet.

And stereotyping an obsessive compulsive male as gay is just silly. That would be like saying a man is to pretty to be straight or a woman driving a Toyota truck is a lesbian. We are all shapes, sizes, looks, ethnicity and personalities. Never judge a book by its cover. Besides, being gay is only a small part of who someone is and not the one defining factor. :bolian:

Leaving clean clothes balled up or in a pile on the floor without hanging them up does not imply (to me) that a guy is 'not gay', it more likely means:

1) he is a teenager or twenty-something who no longer has Mom around to pick up after him, or
2) he is an adult who hasn't found a woman yet who is willing to treat him like a sloppy teenager by picking up after him, or maybe
3) he is unemployed or maybe has a job where no one needs to look at him.

Most guys I know who were slobs in college (and out of Mom's range in those days) eventually grew out of the phase when they graduated into the work force or got involved with a woman who had no patience for picking up after a 30 year old "kid".

I love and appreciate women, and I get annoyed with guys who make the women in their lives clean up after them, having to treat them like children. It is embarrassing to me, as a man.

If a guy can lift and rack plates on a bar for a bench press, he can lift clothes and hangers onto the bar in his closet (Maybe some guys are afraid that if they did hang up their clothes, afterwards someone might see them and misinterpret it when they "come out of the closet"!).

I'm a simple guy, a section for short sleeve shirts, a section for long sleeve shirts, and a section for pants, that's the only order they are in.

That's what I do, although I don't hang up most of my clothes, since I have a habit of forgetting they're there and think I've run out of clothes when I haven't.

I don't think that's a comment on sexuality, just my general laziness and lack of organization.

I keep mine on the floor. But this thread isn't about me. J Allen would faint clean away if he came to my house.

Seriously. I at least keep my clean clothes in the laundry basket until I want to wear them! :p

Seriously, though, I used to hang up all my clothes, and I used to color-code them, mostly out of boredom and lack of drawer space. Now I have lots of drawers, so I just fold everything up.

I don't need to keep my clothes in colour-coded order. I know exactly what goes with what.
Damn, took the words right out of my mouth.

I think it does border on OCD to keep clothes colour coded, but gay? Not nearly. Not to mention that I know gay men who leave their clothes where they fall just as much as (some) straight men do.
Peculiarly enough, the only people I know who leave their clothes on the floor, both men and women, gay and straight, are all Americans. :vulcan:
