I think it's too early to call, since it's the stunt guy's outfit, which, as has been said, may be looser to accommodate stuntwork.

It's hard to judge the colors, too, because they design these things to "read" a certain way when the suit is viewed through the filter they'll be using, and the camera snapping these pics doesn't have that. Many people were worried about the bright blue of the series five TARDIS in the set pics, but when it appears in the show, it looks fine.

Just like the complaints about the lack of wings in the concept drawings, we'll have to wait and see.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but something tells me I'll need a few more words than that to fully explain what you're going to see here.

For now, the short version: I recently traveled to London to check out the set of "Captain America," director Joe Johnston's currently shooting adaptation of the classic Marvel Comics series. Sadly, I can't talk about the specifics of my visit just yet, so you won't hear a peep from me about Cap's costume or Red Skull's makeup effects. (Spoiler Alert: They're both frakkin' awesome.)

But I will say that I had a blast on set and was very impressed with what I saw. You'll know more in the coming months, but for now, all I can do is leave you with this picture of me grinning like an idiot, holding Cap's shield.

It seems like the shield has some suit designs incorporated in it

So what is the shield made of then? Glad you asked. Seems some featurettes on the Iron Man 2 DVD/BR, out 9/28, may indeed answer that question.

More features of interest to fans will be finding out what Cap's shield is made of(Will it differ from the comics?)
Get a close look at what's inside Howard Stark's case and read Howard's first comic book issue of Captain America

If you looked fast in IM:2 you saw a slight corner to a 40's era Captain America comic. Looks like the DVD will have a digital copy of that issue. Will it be relevant in some way?

Sadly it seems the brief Cap footage from Comic Con will likely not be included as rumored.

I still can't get over how cool it is that this movie is set in the 40s. I was sure they'd mess it up and move it to present day.

Nice pics!!! The period setting was such the way to go with this film. Wanting to keep my expectations in check though.

I like the comment someone made in the discussion thread under the Chris Evans photo.
That based on his attire he might be shooting a scene in which he has just been administed the super soldier syrum. Perhaps about to chase down someone for a dasterdly deed.

It looks like that since he's wearing all white. It was only a logical choice to make this first film a period piece and tell the origin story. I suspect that the end of the movie could have an epilogue with maybe Tony Stark or Nick Fury finding Cap frozen, setting up the "Avengers" and the Captain America sequel.

Chris is wearing fake feet to make it look like he's running barefoot

Looks like Cap doesn't need guns. He comes with his own pair.

The fake feet for his running mentioned upthread can be seen here as well.

This has to be a companion piece to the one posted above of him running.

Either the end or beginning of the run/chas sequence. I'm thinking end and perhaps his target just got away in a helicopter?

They'll reshoot the deleted scene from Incredible Hulk using Mark Ruffalo instead.
