Actors who look like their parents/grandparents

Actually, their eyes are where I see one of many differences. Lloyd's were more open than Jeff's and Beau's.

In fact, I remember seeing an ep of The Outer Limits with both Jeff and Lloyd in it and being struck as to how dissimilar they are. To me, it's like Donald and Kiefer Sutherland.

You don't think they look alike either?

Look, a lot of times we convince ourselves that stars look like their relatives just because we know they're related, but in the case of the Bridgeses () and the Sutherlands the fathers always looked more long-faced and hang dog and the sons look more square-jawed and rugged. I don't know whether it's because they favor their mothers or not but the sons do not look like their fathers the way Charlie Sheen looks like a young Martin Sheen or the way Ingrid Bergman and Isabella Rosselini look they were poured from the same mold.

I think Kiefer Sutherland looks more like his mother, Shirley Douglas than his father.

I don't know, but he certainly has the same eyes as his father.

sllightly off topic, but James Roache just played his dad William Roache / Ken Barlow, in BBC show "The Road to Corrie"

and just to confuse things, he is also playing the role of a son of Ken Barlow on Corrie itself.

Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen both look like Martin Sheen... but don't look like each other.

They both sound like their dad but Emilio looks like Martin but Charlie doesn't.

I guess my contribution would be James Brolin and Josh Brolin.

Laura Dern looks very much like her mom Diane Ladd. And people are always saying how much Kate Hudson resembles her mother Goldie Hawn. I don't think they look that much alike, although they do have the same voice. They could impersonate each other on the phone.

James is William's younger son and is playing Ken's grandson. William's older son Linus (who played Thomas Wayne in Batman begins) plays Ken's son and the father of James' character. The three are sooooo alike!

There's definitely a resemblance between Kate Beckinsale and her father Richard.

Have you seen Kate's half-sister, Samantha? She's even more like Richard. It's like Richard in drag!

Since they're both older than their father was when he died, it gives you an idea of what he would have looked like as he got older.

I've often thought the same thing. And in this week's episode of Two and Half Men, there were time when Charlie was talking in a voice that sounded almost exactly like his father.

And grandchildren and great-grandchildren of famous actors. There have been five generations of actors in the Barrymore dynasty -- thus far.
