Why wouldnt they have the time or the resources? Unlike most superheroes, they aren't on patrol everynight. They have down time and money to burn. Gotta be all sorts of "blackmarket" and underground autoshops that do custom work in the Marvel and DC universes. I know in the DCU there's a tailor who specialises in villain costumes, so why not a custom auto guy?

^ That's a relatively new retcon...I believe it was revealed in "Secret War" that the Tinkerer supplied high technology to the highest bidder. One of the reasons why Fury put together his team of undercover heroes in the first place.
It was revealed in an interview last month I believe...posted in this thread somewheres...

as I understand it, the bike is a modern Twin Cam Harley softail springer done up like a WW2 era Harley 45. Oh and all these shots are of the stunt double, no one has any pictures of Evans in the costume yet.

I like how the wings are painted on as if its an homage to how pilots painted logos/chicks etc on the sides of their bombers. It's era specific even in that sense.

I'm refraining from getting into specifics about the costume because I don't want to incite violence lol. People are obviously very passionate and emotional when it comes to superhero movie costumes. While I think they're important they're not exactly the be all and end all to a good movie.

Personally, I'm rather sick of Hollywood costume designers throwing out the comic book outfits and replacing them with overdesigned monstrosities that look 10 times stupider.
