Victoria Jennifer Johnson (The Ladies' Thread)

Plus, it's sometimes treated like a 'get out of jail free' card. Having cramps and feel bad? sure, that sucks. Doesn't justify you acting like a crazy person.

Yes it does. You just don't know because you have never become depressive and paranoid during your pms.

The idea has been thought of, and I just thought of a name. (The "Mean Green Peen Pill")

Somebody should get on this.

Okay, new complaint. I've been cooking (and eating) healthier the past couple weeks, except for a trip to Vegas this weekend. And I've stepped up my workouts and been pretty good about them. I've lost a couple of lbs, not expecting drastic changes but still it's annoying how slow the whole process is.

Meanwhile my husband, who sits in a desk chair all day, doesn't work out at all, and was skinny to start with, has lost at least 10 lbs since I started all this. And he's not even trying! This is a man who will eat a whole box of mac and cheese in one sitting.

Grrrr. :klingon:

It is interesting how different certain pregnacy can be.
But l really like your story on your children and the problems you had.

Like you said that children are a gift for what ever problems they have they are still beautiful even if they make us happy or sad

we have two boys - that's my limit!!!!

How is your daughter now? Has she caught up with other kids her age? My younger is 12 now - he'll never 'catch up" but some doctors say that many preemies can catch up but they may always be at higher risks for things like infections and respiratory things. My little peanut gets sick at the drop of a hat. Grr!

Has your experience made you worry about having more kids? I confess after we found out about little peanut's issues I got my tubes tied (tubal ligation).

I'm interested too in the differences between raising sons and daughters. I think I may have gotten off lucky - people I talk to who have both say boys are easier. I've only got boys so I don't know. My brothers all have all daughters (funny how that worked out!) and their houses are pink palaces!

Actually, you do, because if you compare the combined number of nukes of countries using imperial units as standard with that of countries using metrical units, the latter outweigh the former :p

i just don't get why they can't use stones instead of pounds.

i'm around 13 stone adn 6'1. don't ask me what that is in lbs.

My husband is like that. Though his job involves physical labour, he should weigh more than he does for the amount he eats. He's 6 inches taller than me and weighs 30 lbs less. :alienblush:

One of my brothers also used to be skinny as a rake despite having an awful diet, but in his mid-30s his high metabolism slowed down and he suddenly had a gut. I did what any caring little sister would do...I pointed and laughed!

Regarding pregnancies, I gave birth 3 times within 3 1/2 years. We didn't quite plan that; it was a case of my falling pregnant almost immediately whenever we planned to start trying for the next child. My body has never really forgiven me and I can barely remember the first year of my third child, what with having a preschooler, a toddler, and a baby who was constantly sick. By 18 months old my youngest was showing obvious signs of autism, and he was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder when he was 3.

My first two pregnancies were uneventful but I had diet-controlled gestational diabetes with my third child. Throughout that pregnancy I was constantly told that I was "two weeks too big for dates" and that I'd have a big baby. A scan at 35 weeks showed that the baby was at the expected size, and 5 weeks later I gave birth to a 6lb bag of bones. My son had the cord wrapped around his neck 4 times, and while he didn't suffer oxegen deprivation I think that he wasn't getting enough nutrients during the last weeks of pregnancy and didn't develop properly. He's now 10 and is still a bag of bones, and though he was constantly sick and weak as a baby and toddler he's now healthy and strong, despite his small size. With his level of autistic spectrum disorder I doubt he'll ever be able to live independently, but he's made tremendous progress from where he was during those awful toddler years where he'd throw a massive tantrum if anyone so much as looked at him, never mind spoke to him.

One of the girls who goes to the same playgroup as young master trampledamage was two months premature. Coincidentally enough this has put her birthday just two days before the young master's, so they're almost exactly the same age - turning four in January.

And apart from a vast difference in size (she's tiny and young master TD is tall for his age anyway), they're pretty much the same developmentally.

One thing you find when you have a prem is that they can be a couple of monthes behind a full term baby.
So on a few things you have to wait for them to catch up on certain things in there developement
