Star Trek Universe. Harry Potter could have been my first choice were it not for He Who Must Not Be Named.

It's a tough choice between Star Trek and Harry Potter. I started reading Harry Potter as a kid, and it really brings out the happy child in me. However, I think the scientist in me would quickly become frustrated with witches and wizards, so it'll definitely be Star Trek... Oh, and I'd love it! I'd be cured at last!

I'd say Star Trek, but it'd have to be nuTrek - I can't stand the way Earth is depicted in TNG/DS9. It makes no sense at all. Joseph Sisko runs a resteraunt - but no one pays! Everyone walks around with a labotomized grin on their faces, and no one even drinks real alchohol. There's no TV! They don't even have bad weather.

NuTrek took future Earth and made it a real place. There's grime, police, bar fights, drinks and megalopolii while keeping the united Earth concept. Awesome.

Also everyone's younger and sexier!

I might want to invest in good sunglasses first to reduce the chances of lens-flare related eye trouble

Yes, especially for an "average person". Middle Earth would be a nightmare - hard labor, probably in agriculture, no health care, no internet, etc.

This universe. Life in the Trek universe would be too easy and different from my current life, and I would go crazy trying to explain the magic in the Harry Potter universe with science, although the latter would be a pretty good choice as well (assuming I would live in a time where Voldemort had already been defeated).

Other - the universe of the Culture, as I always say in polls like this.

The life of an average citizen there is just amazing. Makes ST look old-fashioned. Body mods, infinitely extendible life (if you want), and super-smart AIs running everything, freeing humanity up to live however it wants... oh yeah.

I´d choose Star Trek, because of the possibility to live ones dream (like one surly could study whatever, while in todays world you need money to do that)...and also because of all the planets that could be visited and all the aliens to meet.

Middle Earth would have it appeals as well, though more for a holiday kind of visit.

If I could pick any "universe" to live in, I'd love to try the one from the Crank films. It would be...liberating.
