The memories I have of playing the original, one of the best games ever.

Did you only just heard about this?

It made it's way on to my the list when it was first announced. Good memories of the 64 version (which I still have ;)).

It's kind of too bad about the graphics. They're decent, but not great. I was pretty much hoping a remake of GoldenEye would have outstanding graphics, but the gameplay should be good! I think I'm getting this for sure.

Friends and I used to hang out and play it on Multiplayer for hours on end.

Proxy Mines rule!

To be fair, the Wii doesn't exactly have as high of specs as the 360 or PS3, infact I don't believe its hardware is too much more advanced than the Gamecube.

I knew they were doing it, but this is the first I've actually seen of the updated look.

That question was more aimed at Trekker.

Ditto. Often, it was four of us crowded around a small TV too. I used to be able to look at the other screens and know exactly where they were. Yes, I was The One Who Watches Other Screens (when I wasn't being the The One That Waited In The Corner For Someone To Walk By.

I'll probably just keep playing it on N64. Sure, the updates probably are nice, but it just feels disrespectful in some ways (Daniel Craig instead of Brosnan makes me more than a bit uneasy considering this was Brosnan's best Bond film).

I don't recall him doing any other Bond films beyond "Goldeneye." He did Goldeneye and then a bunch of stupid action films where he played a Bond-like character.

I've said this before, probably in the E3 thread, but Activision has a license with EON and MGM to produce games with Daniel Craig's likeness, much like EA had a license to produce games with Brosnan's likeness. (I don't blame Activision for not trying to license Brosnan; EA's From Russia with Love, after the company paid a pretty penny to license Connery's likeness and get him to record the voices, had utterly horrific cross-platform sales numbers.)

My gripes are that Eurocom is the development team behind it (and that group has never made anything good in all of its history, and basically exists as a cheap development house to make shitty whoreish licensed cash-in titles), and the earlier video that Trekker posted looks like a James Bond skin pasted over the shitty Call of Duty Wii engine.

That's because it was shit.

It took everything that was unexpectedly good about Everything Or Nothing, and turned it to utter crap. Bland, unfurnished settings, rubbish music, a stupid bunch of bolt-ons to the plot, and the worst driving controls in the history of videogaming.

What does your point have to do with this thread? Granted, it could be connected to my comment, provided my comment was in a different thread entirely. Since you enjoy playing dumb in order to make such a hackneyed point, I suppose I could play dumb too and point out that the 007 in the titles and the character named James Bond should have obviously clued you in to the fact that there were other Brosnan Bond movies, but what's the point? My point was that they should have come up with their own story or tried to work out a deal for Brosnan before making a game based on a Brosnan film. Not provide a launching point for a pointless internet fan elitist response that is the intellectual equivalent of putting your hands in your ears and shouting to avoid hearing other people.

I'll give you the points of plot bolt-ons and driving controls, however the 'From Russia With Love' game wasn't as bad as you make it sound. When you get into the movie portion of the game, it was pretty loyal to the movie.

That aside, I do want to bring up something that someone said about Brosnan and his likeness not being in the game. EA didn't have the Bond license when GoldenEye came out. Rare developed and Nintendo published GoldenEye for the N64. EA held the exclusive license from 1999-2007 when EA decided to focus on internal IPs. Activision acquired the license from EA and developed games based on Craig's likeness.

I'm sure the internal decision to use Craig instead of Brosnan was stemmed from their interpretation of their license agreement with MGM, and besides, I like the idea of Craig being in GoldenEye. If only if it was properly written.
